Boone,
I'd like to do another round of plugin updates for 1.4.12 to stay on top of the newest versions of what we're using on the site.
After removing the four plugins we do not update:
- BP Import Blog Activity/Blog Toolbox
- BuddyPress Group for Community Admins and Mods
- Forum Attachments for BuddyPress
- BuddyPress Docs
I'm left with eight updates for this release:
- BuddyPress Group Email Subscription
- Events Manager
- External Group Blogs
- News announcement scroll
- Plugin Stats
- Spam Free Wordpress
- Statpress Visitors
- Tumblr Importer
I've looked through the change logs for each and don't see any major issues.
Events Manager has to be updated because Keith is having issues with the last update, I will open a separate ticket for further discussion with Keith on this update.
I'm really curious about BuddyPress Group Email Subscription. Is the Commons ready for the changes you made? Or should I add this plugin to the blacklist for now?

Were we looking to remove Statpress? (http://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/2140) Is anyone using it?

I've added CETS Blog Defaults to our list of blacklisted plugin updates since we customized it to resolve the email "From" issue (#2152) we recently closed out.

yes, if you wouldn't mind starting a ticket to consider the removal of stats press, please let me know. I'd suggest that a message to statpress users would include notice of both jetpack and our Google Analytics services - http://news.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2012/06/23/introducing-google-analytics-for-your-blog/
