Bug #3136
closedThe Easy Rotator

Description
As recommended here in the Codex, http://codex.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2013/07/14/sliders-made-simple/, I'm trying to install The Easy Rotator plugin for WordPress on my blog . Two things are going wrong:
1) I get a warning about using it with Chrome :
2)
(By the way, that post on the codex has no category attached to it. So finding it again was tricky - I see I should have looked in the tags. Perhaps this is just my confusion, but I do find navigating the codex mystifying.)

Marilyn, can you please create a separate ticket for the Codex documentation issue? Thank you.
Also, in the ticket above, I don't see a screenshot (needs to be added as an attachment). Also, there is nothing listed under 2.

Yes, here it is updated:
1) JPEG attached showing Chrome warning.
2) I apparently need Adobe Air as well (see JPEG #2) but cannot install it as I don't have Admin privileges.

Hi Marilyn - if you can use a different browser to create the rotator slides, that is the easiest fix. (You will be able to view the slider in all browsers.) If you have to use Chrome, here is a workaround - http://www.dwuser.com/support/easyrotator/kb/chrome-air-problem/ (scroll down to the section "If you still experience trouble" that pertains to the plugin).

Hi Marilyn,
I was just checking in on another ticket I opened on a related issue and happened to notice yours. In my ticket, I requested the addition of another plugin called slider revolution, which has very similar functionality, but doesn't have the compatibility issues of easy rotator and doesn't require the use of adobe air. The CAC team has already purchased the plugin and I assume it will make its way in the next release cycle. You might want to hold off for now and try using that plugin when it's available.
Here's a link to the plugin in case you're interested: http://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin/2751380

I'm going to echo Keith on this one. Marilyn, the new Revolution plugin (which will be available after tonight's release) appears to be superior to the plugin you're trying to use, with the added benefit of not relying on Adobe Air. I'm going to close this ticket on the assumption that this new plugin will work for you. If you continue to have problems, please feel free to reopen with details.
