Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Support #12484 (Reporter Feedback): Sign up Code for COIL Course starting...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/124842020-02-27T16:01:55ZLaurie Hurson

Hi All,

I am supporting a faculty member who will be teaching a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course on the Commons starting in March. In COIL courses, CUNY students take a course in tandem with other international students and they work together and interact online. This professor would like to allow the co-teachers and students from two other universities to join the COIL course site. In total it would be about 30-40 non-cuny teachers and students signing up for the coil course.

Would it be possible to generate a signup code for these COIL folks to join the Commons?
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #11545 (New): Twitter searches in WordPresshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/115452019-06-11T15:52:47ZGina Cherry

We would like to display recent tweets from a Twitter search (e.g., #openpedagogy) in a widget on our site. Do you have any suggestions about how to do this? I've looked at the existing plugins and none of them seem to support this (they only support displaying your own tweets). I've also tried creating an rss feed of the search and using one of the rss widgets, but this has also failed for various reasons (feedburners not working or not supporting this type of feed). Is there a different approach that I've overlooked? Or is it possible to install a plugin that would support this?
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #11493 (Reporter Feedback): Domain Mapping Request - Talia Schafferhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/114932019-05-26T22:38:37Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

At the CAT committee meeting yesterday, we discussed the new customized email addresses for groups. One person spoke up to say that this was exactly the issue that had confounded faculty at her campus, and she suggested we get the word out aggressively about this feature.

Her suggestion, which I like, is that we email all group admins the email addresses for their groups, along with a draft message to post to their groups if they wish.

I'm happy to draft text for such a message, but I wanted to check on the feasibility of this. Could we pull from the database to get:
1. group admin names
2. group admin emails
3. group titles
4. email addresses for groups

so that we could send such an email?

We could simply post to the group for group admins, but doing so wouldn't give group admins customized info for the groups they administer

One danger to doing this is that people who admin lots of groups will get lots of emails. We may also hear from people running defunct groups, asking for our help in closing them. but maybe that wouldn't be so bad.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #8898 (Assigned): Usage data on docs and social paperhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/88982017-11-10T17:01:54ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

The eighth step, to enable ‘Digital Research Tools,’ does not have any explanatory information about what this tab offers. Can it be customized or is it a set list of tools chosen by CUNY?

Add information about these tools, why a group might want to add this tab, or link to Codex (http://codex.commons.gc.cuny.edu/dirt/)
If customizable, add those options here too.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #3691 (New): WPMU Domain Mapping Debugging on cdevhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/36912014-12-02T17:23:21ZRaymond Hoh

As per the 1.7.5 release, there was a redirect issue with the WPMU Domain Mapping plugin during upgrade to v0.5.5 that forced us to rollback to the previous version (v0.5.4.3).

Boone has suggested that we help debug the latest release on cdev so we can send a patch back to the authors.

Can you let us know when you've set up a domain for mapping on cdev and whether you require any help in debugging?

We have just had an inquiry about bringing 15-20 non CUNY people on to the site for a conference. These kinds of decisions would be much easier to make if we had some sort of guest accounts, perhaps with limited permissions (the ability to participate in a specific blog, for instance, but not to create a new one or to edit wiki pages.)

What do you think? Helpful? Unnecessary? Let me know
