Via ZD, GC librarian Ingrid Conley-Abrams reports that "on this blog post, under my name = https://gclibrary.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2023/03/24/teaching-computer-science-with-open-resources/ = there is no information, even though I've filled it out on the bio." (She means the profile - https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/ingridconleyabrams/)

I (Marilyn) was unclear what she meant until I looked at other recent posts from Jill Cirasella or Elvis Bakaitis. The dashboard views of their posts don't show that they're indicated anything other than the author field (See screenshots)

I'm in a rush but can answer questions. I never use the author field at all, so am at a loss.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #17933 (New): trying to setup domain mappinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/179332023-03-30T02:18:49ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

John DeLooper writes via ZendDesk:

Hello,
We are trying to setup domain mapping for https://bronxbusiness.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ to go to

Syelle Graves reports:

We have a hopefully-simple question about a Gravity form that uses the post creation option on this site https://weauthors.commons.gc.cuny.edu/category/spanish/

The problem is that even though we have the submitted image set to be the featured image of the post draft, the image never appears in the post itself: https://weauthors.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=gf_edit_forms&id=1 (https://weauthors.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=gf_edit_forms&id=1)

I have ignored this for some time, because on the BMCC OL, where I also work, we have observed this to be a bug in this same theme that we are using here on the Commons site (Customizr).

However, perhaps your team has a solve? Is there any way to get the image to show in the post tile without us adding it manually? We are doing a large-scale project of CUNY student writing, and it would be a huge benefit to our instructors who have to publish hundreds of student submissions by hand as they come in.

Many thanks!

What's the name of the plugin/theme?3D FlipBook

In a few words, what does it do? 3D FlipBook is PDF Viewer that allows you to browse images, PDFs or HTMLs as a flipbook

Please provide a link to the plugin on the WordPress theme repository or (https://wordpress.org/themes/ [wordpress.org]) plugin repository (https://wordpress.org/plugins/ [wordpress.org]) https://wordpress.org/plugins/interactive-3d-flipbook-powered-physics-engine/

Please research the release history and popularity of the plugin. How many times has it been downloaded? 40,000+ active installations When was it last updated? 2 months ago

How is the plugin/theme different from what's already provided on the Commons? There are no flipbook options in the commons.

Please let us know who you are (include a link to your site) and who will use this tool?
I'm a CUNY student and help run the page for the Brooklyn Waterfront Research Center at CityTech (https://bwrc.commons.gc.cuny.edu/). I'm not sure if you're the person to contact, but I have a very (hopefully?) simple question.

Is there a way to get the "posts list" page builder block option to be available / usable? I see that it's usually available (for example, in the demo version) but it doesn't come up for me in the list of block options for the page builder (screenshot below). If there's a way I can add that, please let me know!

Cathy Leaker write via ZenDesk

"I am Dean of Faculty at Kingsborough Community College. We are hoping to share a password protected file showing the results of the COACHE faculty survey on a Commons site.

However, the Harvard Graduate School of Education, which administers the survey, distributes the data on a large Chrome html file (attached here) I tried to load it into the Commons but was told I couldn't because of security.

Is there any way i can get permission to share this file through the Commons?"

I tried to download it but it appears to be only 631 bytes - I assume because I don't have the password. I asked her if it needs to be shared as an HTML file or can it be converted to PDF.

Anything else I should ask? Do we ever make exceptions to this policy? Thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #11813 (Resolved): “Change Password Protected Message” plugin r...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/118132019-08-30T16:55:55ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

User Kristen Cribbs asks via Zendesk - "I am writing to see if it would be possible for Commons to install the following free plugin? “Change Password Protected Message.” More info on the plugin here (https://wordpress.org/plugins/change-password-protected-message/) .

I need to password protect a page of our website (https://sphhrpp.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ideate-guidance/) which contains proprietary information, but there is not an option in Wordpress to alter the default title (i.e., the “Protected” preface) or message that one sees when they navigate to the page (“This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below”)."

She's answered all the questions we usually ask:

- What's the name of the plugin/theme? Change Password Protected Message

- In a few words, what does it do? Enables customization of title and message displayed on password protected WordPress posts/pages.

- How is the plugin/theme different from what's already provided on the Commons? WordPress core does not allow for customization of password protected posts/pages. As a result, when a user needs to password protect posts or pages, their title will automatically be “Protected: Page Title,” and the message will read “This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below.” This plugin allows the user to change the title and message to any text preferred.

- What's the potential impact? Who will use it? Commons users who have a need to password protect their pages and posts will be able to easily customize the associated titles and messages, enhancing website aesthetics and increasing usability/functionality for viewers.

- Who initially made the request Kristen Cribbs, Human Research Protection Program Director, CUNY SPH

- Who is the plugin author? Pipdig

- Say a little bit about the release history and popularity of the plugin. How many times has it been downloaded? When was it last updated?
