Via ZD, GC librarian Ingrid Conley-Abrams reports that "on this blog post, under my name = https://gclibrary.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2023/03/24/teaching-computer-science-with-open-resources/ = there is no information, even though I've filled it out on the bio." (She means the profile - https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/ingridconleyabrams/)

I (Marilyn) was unclear what she meant until I looked at other recent posts from Jill Cirasella or Elvis Bakaitis. The dashboard views of their posts don't show that they're indicated anything other than the author field (See screenshots)

I'm in a rush but can answer questions. I never use the author field at all, so am at a loss.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #17933 (New): trying to setup domain mappinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/179332023-03-30T02:18:49ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

John DeLooper writes via ZendDesk:

Hello,
We are trying to setup domain mapping for https://bronxbusiness.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ to go to

https://bronxbusiness.lehman.edu

As per the instructions on https://help.commons.gc.cuny.edu/domain-mapping-commons/

I am writing to verify that the DNS record is setup correctly and your team can make the necessary changes on your end.

Thank you!

Are we able to do any mapping at this time?
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #16545 (Reporter Feedback): "Bug in customizr? Gravity form submi...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/165452022-07-29T15:46:59ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Syelle Graves reports:

We have a hopefully-simple question about a Gravity form that uses the post creation option on this site https://weauthors.commons.gc.cuny.edu/category/spanish/

The problem is that even though we have the submitted image set to be the featured image of the post draft, the image never appears in the post itself: https://weauthors.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=gf_edit_forms&id=1 (https://weauthors.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=gf_edit_forms&id=1)

I have ignored this for some time, because on the BMCC OL, where I also work, we have observed this to be a bug in this same theme that we are using here on the Commons site (Customizr).

However, perhaps your team has a solve? Is there any way to get the image to show in the post tile without us adding it manually? We are doing a large-scale project of CUNY student writing, and it would be a huge benefit to our instructors who have to publish hundreds of student submissions by hand as they come in.

Many thanks!

From ZenDesk

"I don’t know if there is an easy way to embed a tableau public visualization into my Wordpress site on the Commons.
User Kristen Cribbs asks via Zendesk - "I am writing to see if it would be possible for Commons to install the following free plugin? “Change Password Protected Message.” More info on the plugin here (https://wordpress.org/plugins/change-password-protected-message/) .

I need to password protect a page of our website (https://sphhrpp.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ideate-guidance/) which contains proprietary information, but there is not an option in Wordpress to alter the default title (i.e., the “Protected” preface) or message that one sees when they navigate to the page (“This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below”)."

She's answered all the questions we usually ask:

- What's the name of the plugin/theme? Change Password Protected Message

- In a few words, what does it do? Enables customization of title and message displayed on password protected WordPress posts/pages.

- How is the plugin/theme different from what's already provided on the Commons? WordPress core does not allow for customization of password protected posts/pages. As a result, when a user needs to password protect posts or pages, their title will automatically be “Protected: Page Title,” and the message will read “This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below.” This plugin allows the user to change the title and message to any text preferred.

- What's the potential impact? Who will use it? Commons users who have a need to password protect their pages and posts will be able to easily customize the associated titles and messages, enhancing website aesthetics and increasing usability/functionality for viewers.

- Who initially made the request Kristen Cribbs, Human Research Protection Program Director, CUNY SPH

- Who is the plugin author? Pipdig

- Say a little bit about the release history and popularity of the plugin. How many times has it been downloaded? When was it last updated?

Last week, I used the "Insert Read More Tag" for a few posts on my site (https://historyprogram.commons.gc.cuny.edu/) without difficulty. This week, when I click on the icon, the read more tag is added, but at the bottom of my post, not where I'm trying to insert it. (See attached screenshot showing the 7 tags at the end of a post.) I've tried this on two PCs (one at the GC, the other at home), using Chrome and Firefox. I'm using the Radiate theme (since two weeks ago, it worked before). Please let me know what other info you need to look into this.
User Pamela Jean Stemberg would like to be able to upload Word docs to her site.
User Koby Oppenheim writes: "I had a question about videos on the Academic Commons. A few years back we lead a project among GC students to create videos and teaching resources on immigration. Recently, we were informed that the videos are no longer available on the site. I see if you could help us figure out why not or what happened. The site is: https://teachingimmigration.commons.gc.cuny.edu
We were recently contacted by another GC student who wanted to use the materials in the classroom, but could not access the videos."

User Sara Vogel reports:
"I use the files section for my private course grou (open only to people I approve as members) - https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/fall-2016-foundations-of-bilingual-ed-at-hunter/. Someone named Nick Joseph Reyes's files are showing up here even though he is not a member of the group. I checked this folder Saturday, and only my files were there, so it had to have been between then and now that this glitch happened. Do you know how I can delete them from the folder? It doesn't give me the option. Also, how do I make sure the contents of my folders are protected from non-members?"

I went to this group and it is indeed still private, so I am utterly mystified here. I looked at the student's profile - https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/nickjoseph/groups/- and see that he is in an entirely different course - https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/fall-2016-queens-eng130-ali/. It's my educated guess that his files were meant to be posted there.

How should I proceed? It seems logical to email the student to find out what he thinks he did, but I don't really know what that tells us.
The user would like to delete the files - can she be granted access to do that or can someone do it for her? Can we see if he also put these files in the Queens course group?

Has this happened before? It's a first for me!
