Via ZD, GC librarian Ingrid Conley-Abrams reports that "on this blog post, under my name = https://gclibrary.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2023/03/24/teaching-computer-science-with-open-resources/ = there is no information, even though I've filled it out on the bio."
I (Marilyn) was unclear what she meant until I looked at other recent posts from Jill Cirasella or Elvis Bakaitis. The dashboard views of their posts don't show that they're indicated anything other than the author field (See screenshots)

Via ZD:

I am a librarian at the Graduate Center Library and I also work on the library website. Since a site we use for the purpose has gone down permanently, I am reimplementing an RSS feed reader to ingest the posts on our Commons site. I have run up against a CORS error, and the simplest solution would be to do as this page suggests: https://bionicteaching.com/allowing-cross-origin-access-to-wordpress-feeds/
Is that possible? It would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Steve

"My page https://v1innycchildren.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
suddenly has blog posts at the end of it that has nothing to do with it. I can't find them on the page, but they shouldn't be there. I turned off the ping backs, but I can't get rid of the blog posts."

I see exactly what she means - her site is pulling in other blogs that have public posts as comments. Nothing in the Discussion settings looks unusual to me (see attached.)

I'm looking now to see if other sites are having this problem.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #16623 (Resolved): Administration email verification and dashboard in...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/166232022-08-16T20:31:19ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

I don't think this is exactly a bug. When I am logged in as super and go to the home page, I get this prompt:

_Administration email verification
Please verify that the administration email for this website is still correct. Why is this important?(opens in a new tab)

Current administration email: cunycommons@gmail.com

This email may be different from your personal email address._

I clicked on update just to see what it was referring to, and found another confusing thing there - the "tagline" (see attached).

CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #16198 (Resolved): Change role to . . https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/161982022-06-02T23:21:29ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

A user brought to my attention that "Change role to . . " on her site didn't work. Because I know this user and was in a rush, I went ahead as a super admin and made the change for her (ticket 7145 " upgrade a user (Hannah Miller) from Author to Administrator" - https://cunycommons.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/7145)

Now I have another user with the same problem. I had him add me (non super) as an Admin, and I see exactly what he means. When I am logged in as mweber here - https://jjayoersummer.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/users.php - and I select a user then try to change their role, simply nothing happens. There is no error message, but the user I am trying to downgrade (jennifereconomos) remains as an admin.

LMK what more info you need. It's ticket 7180, if that helps - https://cunycommons.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/7180
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #14410 (Resolved): events calendar problem?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/144102021-05-03T15:08:51ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Laura Spinu reports:

I have been maintaining a website for a CUNY-wide conference scheduled for May 14 and after months of perfect functioning, the Register page no longer displays our event and registration (free tickets) we had enabled last year. It looks like the Events Calendar has disappeared and when I tried re-installing it I got this message: "Sorry, you are not allowed to install plugins on this site. "

Do you know why that might be the case? To my knowledge, I haven't made any changes to this page or the Events calendar whatsoever, they simply just stopped working. Thank you.

She then followed up:
This is the page that stopped working (I presume because the Events Calendar stopped working):

https://lscconf.commons.gc.cuny.edu/register/

It used to show a Register box before, to the May 14 event I had created on the website. Upon registering their details, participants received a (free) ticket to their email address.

I replaced this page earlier with a different one embedding a Google form for registration, so this is not an emergency, but if you find out what caused the problem I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

Best wishes,

Adding it here as a suggestion for future release, I think. Thanks!
