Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Support #15686 (Resolved): ZenDesk introducing "triggers"https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/156862022-03-21T17:04:43ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Ray, Matt wanted you to have a look at this:

"HI MARILYN,

Zendesk has introduced a new feature called trigger categories to help customers organize triggers and make them easier to manage. Beginning March 31, 2022, we will be automatically adding a default category to your triggers. Our records indicate you have not yet enabled triggers in your account and will be affected by this change, so we’re reaching out with a friendly reminder in case you missed our in-product notification.

What does this mean?
In January 2021, Zendesk rolled out trigger categories as an opt-in feature and since then, many of our customers have taken advantage of this functionality with great results. We are now moving to the next phase of this rollout and will automatically add categories for customers who have not enabled them by March 31.

Please note that this change will not impact the order or the behavior of your triggers. Triggers will continue to execute in the sequence in which they’re ordered, as they always have.

What do I need to do?
We encourage you to get ahead of this change by enabling this functionality on your trigger edit page. Once you are using trigger categories, you’ll be able to designate a category when creating a new trigger via the Zendesk API or the Zendesk user interface. If you don’t specify a category when creating a new trigger, we will select a category for you.

If you don’t take action, after March 31, 2022 you’ll see a default category appear in your list of triggers. This will not impact the way your triggers execute and you shouldn’t notice any other change.

Please refer to this article for details, and partner with your developer resources as appropriate. And as always, you can contact us if you have questions or need additional support.

Sylle Graves reports:
I'm having an issue with the support/send us a message link; the message box gets hidden behind any other screen I'm in, so that I cannot type in it or send--is this a bug that others have been experiencing? It is happening on multiple browsers and PCs. Screenshot below. Hope this is helpful!
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #11211 (Resolved): user needs to edit the HTML codinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/112112019-03-11T19:54:19ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

User Matthew Conlin writes
"I was wondering if there's a way to edit the HTML coding on my site. There's a glitch that removes the Facebook button from our top menu, and I have the proper code to fix it but I need to know where I can open the HTML editor. I have attached examples. Any advice would be appreciated."

I suggested that he use Edit CSS but he replies "CSS is definitely helpful to stylize it in the top menu to our liking, but the problem is that the glitch has erased the actual HTML code in that spot, so I can’t CSS stylize what isn’t there in the HTML."
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #9335 (Resolved): clone http://digitalscholarship.ccny.cuny.edu site? https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/93352018-03-02T19:03:35ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

User Rafay writes:

"Im Rafay, and I work for Digital scholarship services at City College. I had two questions regarding Academic Commons.
The first being, is it possible to migrate a preexisting wordpress site (http://digitalscholarship.ccny.cuny.edu) to the academic commons?
Secondly, the theme used for our site (BusinessBuilder) is not available. How can we go about installing that?"

He's like it cloned as is, if possible.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #8941 (Resolved): Theme request: ColorNewshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/89412017-11-28T13:14:34ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Diane Krauthamer (diane.krauthamer@sps.cuny.edu) has requested a plugin. Here are her Google form replies:

What's the name of the plugin/theme?
ColorNews

In a few words, what does it do?
It displays content in a visually-appealing manner that will adapt well with the website design improvements we have been discussing for http://newlaborforum.cuny.edu/.

Please provide a link to the plugin
https://wordpress.org/themes/colornews/

Please research the release history and popularity of the plugin. How many times has it been downloaded? When was it last updated?
It has been downloaded over 7,000 times. It was last updated on May 9, 2017.

How is the plugin/theme different from what's already provided on the Commons?
The theme provides built-in functionality such as an animated slider, social media buttons, and a scrolling news feed that the other themes available on the Commons appear to be lacking.

Please let us know who you are (include a link to your site) and who will use this tool?
My name is Diane Krauthamer (diane.krauthamer@sps.cuny.edu) . I have been hired as a part-time adjunct to redevelop the site http://newlaborforum.cuny.edu/. I will be working with the School of Professional Studies (SPS) in using this tool on both the main site (http://newlaborforum.cuny.edu/) and the test site (https://nlftest.commons.gc.cuny.edu/) to redesign the New Labor Forum site.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #8620 (Resolved): "Send us a message" not workinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/86202017-08-29T18:10:26ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Robin Camille Davis also reports:
on the profile page, when I tried to click the “Add friend” button, it wasn't clickable — the cursor became the text-editing cursor instead of the tiny-hand cursor, in random places in the grey area of the profile page including the friend button. I used Inspect Element to hide the “ticketSubmissionForm” iframe, and the profile page became usable again. Same behavior in Firefox and Chrome.

A Zendesk user reports:

I'm trying to accept a friend request on the CUNY Commons site. On the friends/requests/ page on my profile, clicking the Accept button opens up a tab to https://www.zendesk.com/web-widget/?utm_source=webwidget&utm_medium=poweredbyzendesk&utm_campaign=image[zendesk.com] but does not mark the request as accepted.
I'm running Firefox on Windows. I paused AdBlock and Ghostery so there is probably no interference from a browser plugin.
This seems like a bug -- just giving you a heads up.
Robin
—
Robin Camille Davis
Emerging Technologies & Online Learning Librarian

Not sure if this is a Redmine issue. I've attached three screenshots to show how the Twenty Fourteen theme
1) loses both the background and sidebar in IE (and truncates "CUNY Academic Commons" to "CUNY Ac"
2) does not allow text or images to fill the middle part of the screen, instead displaying quite a bit of white "dead" space. (I suspect this might be something I can figure out.)

Any tips? Thanks, all!
