Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Support #12960 (Resolved): mutiple plugin in requestshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/129602020-06-22T00:33:36ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

First I got this:

Hello,

My name is Tomonori Nagano and I just started using CUNY Academic Commons to create websites for a few grant-funded projects. I am writing to ask if it is possible to add a few plugins that I am interested in using on these websites.

These plug-ins are fairly popular and I believe there is no known conflict with the other WordPress system/plugins.

----------------------------
wpDiscuz (Active Installations: 70,000+)
List category posts (Active installations: 100,000+) or Posts in Page (Active Installations: 40,000+)
Browser Screenshots (Active Installations: 6,000+)
----------------------------

Here are the links to my WordPress sites on CAC.

https://tokyo2021.commons.gc.cuny.edu<https://tokyo2021.commons.gc.cuny.edu/>
https://japanese.commons.gc.cuny.edu<https://japanese.commons.gc.cuny.edu/>

Thank you for your consideration.

Tomonori

Then this

Hello,

I forgot to add one plug in. We are also interested in "Wufoo Shortcode Plugin." This is actually crucial since we are using Wufoo for the call for participants for our projects.

Tomonori

I asked her to fill out the Google forms for each, which she did. Boone, how should I share those with you? Separate tickets here on ZendDesk? Thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #12905 (Resolved): trouble embedding a flipbook from Flipsnackhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/129052020-06-07T00:54:30ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Elvis Bakaitis reports
I'm having trouble embedding a flipbook from Flipsnack. It seems straightforward, here is the code below. When I try to add it to my site - openpedagogy.commons.gc.cuny.edu - either in a post or on a page, it appears in the Preview but not on the live page once saved.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #12483 (Resolved): post errorhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/124832020-02-27T14:34:39ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Joseph Hill reports:
I work for the Office of Career Planning & Professional Development. We're having a problem with the backend of our site (https://careerplan.commons.gc.cuny.edu/). On our user page (https://careerplan.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/users.php), administrators can no longer see each other. For example, on my user page (see attachment), I am the only administrator listed even though there are at least four other users with this top editing permission. Additionally, we can no longer change a user's role to administrator--the option simply no longer exists in the drop-down menu.

We noticed this problem shortly after activating the Yoast SEO plugin, so I uninstalled the plugin to see if the administrators would reappear. However, this didn't resolve the problem, which makes me believe that that plugin installation was unrelated to our problem.

I'm not an admin there so I can't see it.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #11647 (Resolved): Tribulant Newsletters updatehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/116472019-07-17T22:02:41ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Now that Tribulant Newsletters appears to be working well (knock wood), can we install their update? I saw a prompt in the dashboard but couldn't do it myself. Here's their WP page - https://wordpress.org/plugins/newsletters-lite/
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #11609 (Resolved): Mixed Content flaghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/116092019-06-27T14:45:08ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Joseph Paul Hill writes via Zendesk: "The Office of Career Planning & Professional Development need hselp updating one of the images in our website header in order to be SSL compliant.

Our custom theme (gclibrary) has two images in the header: the GC logo and our office logo. The GC logo is currently being pulled from http://library.gc.cuny.edu/images/new/gc-library-logo-oct8-2014_01.png, which is resulting in a Mixed Content flag on every page of our website.

I've been told that, because we're using the library's old custom theme, we need help updating our header code.

I believe that simply adding an "s" to the http will do the trick. However, it might be better to no longer rely on an old image from the library's media library at all, so I uploaded a clean version of the GC logo to our own media library: https://careerplan.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-content/blogs.dir/2368/files/2019/06/GC_Header_Logo.png."

What do you advise? Thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #11483 (Resolved): "Add New user" not workinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/114832019-05-21T17:12:19ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Tom Harbison reports:

"Hello Commons Support Team,
For the past 15 minutes, I have been finding that clicking on Users->Add New fails to load the add new users interface. When I click that link on the left side of the dashboard, nothing happens. If I click “Add Existing” at the top of the users.php page, or if I navigate directly to the user-new.php page for the course, I’m redirected to the course dashboard. I’ve tried on a couple of courses:
https://testportfolio20190516.commons.gc.cuny.edu (https://testportfolio20190516.commons.gc.cuny.edu/)
https://sandboxfun.commons.gc.cuny.edu (https://sandboxfun.commons.gc.cuny.edu/)
I’ve tried from Chrome and FF in iOS 10.14.5 and from Chrome on a Chromebook, and get the same symptom"

I'm having the same problem on Chrome on a PC.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #11233 (Resolved): Hotjar ?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/112332019-03-17T22:40:07ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

From Zendesk:

My name is Anders, I'm a fellow at the GC's Office of Career Planning and Professional Development. I was in touch with Boone Gorges about installing a new plugin on the commons and Boone advised me to submit an official ticket here.

A colleague and I wanted to install an analytics plugin called Hotjar on our commons website (https://careerplan.commons.gc.cuny.edu (https://careerplan.commons.gc.cuny.edu/) ) to get a better view of how visitors are using our website. We'd like to make some design changes to the site's information architecture, so this would help us understand areas of our site to target for improvement.

Would you be able to install this plugin on the commons?
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #10838 (Rejected): two plugin/theme requests from a digital fellow https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/108382018-12-17T18:14:32ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

A digital fellow makes the two requests:

What's the name of the plugin/theme?
1) Customizr Pro Version
2) Search & Filter Pro Version

In a few words, what does it do?
1) Customizr is a simple and fast WordPress theme designed to help you attract and engage more visitors. Provides a perfect user experience on smartphones. Powers more than 100K active sites around the world. Hundreds of 5-stars reviews received on WordPress.org.
2) Search and Filtering system for Pages, Posts, Categories, Tags and Taxonomies

Please provide a link to the plugin/theme on the WordPress theme repository or (https://wordpress.org/themes/) plugin repository (https://wordpress.org/plugins/)

Please research the release history and popularity of the plugin/theme. How many times has it been downloaded? When was it last updated?
1) Updated to version 4.1+ during the year 2018:
https://docs.presscustomizr.com/
2) Search & Filter Pro 2.0 was released in early 2018:
https://www.designsandcode.com/25518/search-filter-2-0-released/

How is the plugin/theme different from what's already provided on the Commons?
We do not have access to the set of features that come with the pro versions of 1 & 2. We are uncertain as to what specific features at the moment since the site is still in development. But as a guess,
for 1: we would like access to "custom scripts" and "featured pages unlimited"
for 2: we would like to the UI interface and ajax scripts

Please let us know who you are (include a link to your site) and who will use this tool?
I am the Digital Fellow for CLACLS at CUNY GC. The center will be purchasing the pro versions to build a webpage for the center using the WordPress based Commons platform.

Please let me know if I, or CLACLS, need to provide any further information.
