Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #6575 (Rejected): No papers link for the group "social paper"https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/65752016-11-02T18:03:31ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

I've just noticed that there is no "Papers" tab for the Social Paper Group - http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/social-paper/ Is the general policy that the tab only appears if a paper is linked to a group? Surely that can't be the case for the Social Paper Group

I've attached screenshots showing that and what I see in the CUNY Academic Commons Team Group as a contrast.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #6313 (Duplicate): group member no longer in group, can't rejoin. https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/63132016-10-14T21:46:00ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

User Laura M Villegas reports that she was a member of the group SOCIAL FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION EECE- 702 but is no longer. When she tries to "request membership in the group,--multiple times- it says the following: There was an error sending your group membership request. Please try again."

When I tried to replicate this (at https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/queens-eece-702-social-foundations-of-education), I was taken to a page that said " You are requesting to become a member of the group 'Queens EECE 702 – Social Foundations of Education'" with a Comments box. She says she's getting an error message, and has tried more than one computer. She can be reached directly at lauramvillegas11@gmail.com if you'd like
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #6039 (Resolved): User cannot change her email https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/60392016-09-19T14:50:41ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Cheryl Littman, Acting Dean of Institutional Effectiveness at Queens, reports:
"I am trying to change my CUNY Academic Commons account email address from cheryl.littman@mail.cuny.edu to cheryl.littman@qc.cuny.edu. I followed the instructions from the FAQ/Help info, changing my password as well as the account email. The screen says I'm successful, but after logging out and then back in again, the Commons Profile/Settings page still shows the email address as @mail.cuny.edu instead of @qc.cuny.edu."

I've asked her to clarify whether she was trying to chgne the password at the same time as the account email, but she says no. She has tried again with her known password and, indeed, she still gets the green notification bar that says "Your settings have been saved" I can see her in the users list (clittman) but I cannot change her address there.

I'm able to replicate this for myself. Last night I followed these instructions:
To change the email account where you receive email notifications, go to the top black navigation bar, hover over your avatar on the top right corner, and select: My Settings » General. Re-write your preferred email account in the ‘Account Email’ field, then scroll down and select “Save Changes.”
To try to change my History account (username: conduit) from mweb05@gmail.com to history@gc.cuny.edu. Got the green bar, thought all was well, but my user page still shows the gmail address.

LMK what more information you need. Thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #5844 (Resolved): edit Host Files on Windows 10 problemshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/58442016-07-26T17:49:46ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Boone -

Matt and Stephen suggested that I write to you so that there I can can join in if any additional testing needed. In trying to follow the linked instructions (http://www.thewindowsclub.com/hosts-file-in-windows) , I can only get to the stage where I navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\. Once there, Notepad does not come up as a selection. I have 7-Zip and CRC SHA as options - see attached.

Is there another way to edit Host Files on Windows 10? Am I missing something in the instructions?

User ekaterina reports that when she tries to change her password, she receives the link which takes her to the change password page, but then receives an “invalid username” message. She is Ekaterina Sukhanova, the University Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and urgently needs access for her work at CUNY Central. At my request, she tried again to change her password so that it included a character (? or * or ! ) as well, but this has not solved her problem. Can someone manually reset it?

Here's the complaint:
"For the first time ever, when I tried to log onto the Center for Place, Culture and Politics website, which I am responsible for maintaining, I received a message that asked me to answer a math question to prove I am human. It says that once I answer the question, I will have to log on again. 10 math equations later, I can get nothing to happen except to be given a new math question. Please help with this. "

2) Brian D Maasjo
bm514@hunter.cuny.edu
