Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Documentation #16352 (Resolved): GC Linux Servicehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/163522022-07-12T15:57:22ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Just an FyI to the team - email updates that used to come from do-not-reply@gc.cuny.edu are now sent from "GC Linux Service". It threw me for a second so I figured I'd tall you all.
CUNY Academic Commons - Design/UX #15241 (Resolved): white on grayhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/152412022-02-01T22:27:50ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Just found a little problem - if you enter a nonCUNY address is the email, the warning that pops up is white, on a gray background. A little hard to see! Pic attached.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #12741 (Abandoned): Tableau Public Viz Blockhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/127412020-05-04T01:47:23ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

From ZenDesk

"I don’t know if there is an easy way to embed a tableau public visualization into my Wordpress site on the Commons. I have tried the embed block, using iframe, and the Tableau JavaScript API but none of them have worked. I found a plugin that could be helpful to embedding tableau public visualizations.

Here is the link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wptab-tableau-public-viz-block/"

I'm at a loss, sorry to say.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #11813 (Resolved): “Change Password Protected Message” plugin r...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/118132019-08-30T16:55:55ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

User Kristen Cribbs asks via Zendesk - "I am writing to see if it would be possible for Commons to install the following free plugin? “Change Password Protected Message.” More info on the plugin here (https://wordpress.org/plugins/change-password-protected-message/) .

I need to password protect a page of our website (https://sphhrpp.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ideate-guidance/) which contains proprietary information, but there is not an option in Wordpress to alter the default title (i.e., the “Protected” preface) or message that one sees when they navigate to the page (“This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below”)."

She's answered all the questions we usually ask:

- What's the name of the plugin/theme? Change Password Protected Message

- In a few words, what does it do? Enables customization of title and message displayed on password protected WordPress posts/pages.

- How is the plugin/theme different from what's already provided on the Commons? WordPress core does not allow for customization of password protected posts/pages. As a result, when a user needs to password protect posts or pages, their title will automatically be “Protected: Page Title,” and the message will read “This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below.” This plugin allows the user to change the title and message to any text preferred.

- What's the potential impact? Who will use it? Commons users who have a need to password protect their pages and posts will be able to easily customize the associated titles and messages, enhancing website aesthetics and increasing usability/functionality for viewers.

- Who initially made the request Kristen Cribbs, Human Research Protection Program Director, CUNY SPH

- Who is the plugin author? Pipdig

- Say a little bit about the release history and popularity of the plugin. How many times has it been downloaded? When was it last updated?

Current version 1.2.5

Last update 4 months ago

25,000+ active installations to date

Referenced as a valuable plugin on various blog websites to remedy a gap in standard WordPress core functionality.

5 star rating

CUNY Academic Commons - Documentation #8459 (Resolved): comprehensive list of plugins? https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/84592017-08-03T13:25:12ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

Boone -

Do we have a comprehensive list of plugins? I seem to remember Maggie was working on this, It'd be helpful for me in editing the Help pages. Thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Outreach #5396 (Resolved): Add CUNY Central to the survey choices? https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/53962016-03-31T15:09:07ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

From the Zendesk portal:
"I just started to take the Academic Commons Survey and noticed that CUNY Central is not in the list of participating CUNY campuses. I clicked the option "None of the Above” for my location, and I think I was blocked from filling out the rest of the survey. I think CUNY Central should be added to the campus list because there are certainly a number of users for which that is their primary CUNY affiliation."

Can this be fixed? Thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Design/UX #4102 (Resolved): Username ruleshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/41022015-05-29T16:23:32ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

A new user just made the following complaint:
I just tried to register for an account, and attempted to include an underscore in my username. I did this based on the list of examples which includes "jane_doe", but then got an error because underscore isn't an acceptable character.

In addition to the underscore problem, it's not obvious that you can now only use lowercase letters. This is especially confusing since some users do have capitals in their names.

Matt suggested I open a Redmine ticket. Perhaps we could change the wording on the signup page so that all the rules are obvious?
CUNY Academic Commons - Publicity #3592 (Resolved): Oops - Announcing 1.6! https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/35922014-10-22T14:46:25ZMarilyn WeberMweber@gc.cuny.edu

There's still a hero slide announcing the 1.6 release on commons.gc.cuny.edu. Can someone give me Dashboard access? I'll remove it.
