Hi there.. I know this is more of a CBOX question than a Commons issue, but I'm hoping you all might have an idea as to what's going on. I've created a CBOX install at dhinstitutes.org. On that CBOX install, there is a sub-domain wordpress site (dhinstitutes.org/june2018). I can upload images to the Media Library on the main CBOX site, but I am unable to get any images to upload correctly on the sub-domain. I've double checked, and the images are below the max-upload threshold. They are the correct format, etc. etc. When they are "uploading" WordPress goes through all the motions, but no thumbnail appears.. just a gray box. When you try to edit the image in the Media Library, the image is there and can be edited; however, when you select the image from the media library to insert into a page or post, it shows up as a gray box. Any idea what's going on?
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #8851 (Resolved): Adding the PressForward Turnkey theme to the Co...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/88512017-10-24T17:22:21ZLisa Rhodylrhody@gc.cuny.edu

Hi All,

I'd like to experiment with creating a PressForward publication on the Commons that utilizes their turnkey theme. The theme is on github. The readme page is here: https://github.com/PressForward/pressforward-turnkey-theme/blob/e2fa223072f63f7879cece2d33aa2a5b21e0b8e5/README.md. I think that the theme makes the plugin more useful, and before I suggest it for others, I'd like to set up a site to experiment with myself to see whether or not it presents any problems.

I'd like to launch it on a dev site first to play around with and see if it presents problems before potentially releasing to more people to use.

Hi all...

We were wondering if we could add the following plugin to the commons. It hasn't been updated in a year, but it's been tested up to 4.5.9. We have several sites where people want to move back and forth between visual editor and the text editor, but when they do so, problem and errors crop up. This plugin on our dev site has made a big difference.

Hi all,
I added CommentPress to my class site: https://dhpraxisfall16.commons.gc.cuny.edu/. Unfortunately, for some reason when I try to leave a comment it is throwing the following error: "ERROR: please type a comment. « Back" There was text in the comment field, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be registering. I've looked at the Chrome console. Just pulling up a page throws 3 errors and then a 4th error shows up when I open a comment box:
Mixed Content: The page at 'https://dhpraxisfall16.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2017/02/06/project-proposal-encoding-as-close-reading/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure script 'http://dhpraxisfall16.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-content/plugins/cp-ajax-comments/cp-ajax-comments.js?ver=4.7.2-1.10.10'.
Hi all.
I have been trying to use the PressForward plugin on my course site (dhpraxisfall16.commons.gc.cuny.edu) and each time I access the feed reader and click on an item in "all content" , I get the following error: "PressForward was unable to access the relationships database." The item does appear, however, after you click through the error. The same thing happens at each stage of the process (nominating an item, commenting on an item, opening an item in the nominations panel, sending the item to draft). The thing is that the item continues to move and you can get it to go to "draft."

I talked to Aram about it, and he seems to think that it might be that the Commons is preventing PressForward from spawning a new table to house the feed reader's content. I'm not sure if that could be the case, though because the item still shows up even after displaying the error.

Figuring out what is going on would be helpful because the PressForward outreach group is coming to do a workshop on using PressForward on September 23rd. They will probably use a stand alone sandbox instance to do the first training. However, chances are that because PF is on the Commons, we may have a sudden increase in use and want to head off any error messages before then.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #5976 (Resolved): Commons may be down? https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/59762016-09-01T23:31:56ZLisa Rhodylrhody@gc.cuny.edu

Hi,

I'd mentioned this, I think, in conversation, but Matt suggested that I write a ticket for it. Would it be possible to add PressForward as a Commons supported plugin? I realize that we'd need to do some experimentation with how PF would interact with BuddyPress features. I'd be happy to work on some bug testing to see how it would go.

Here is the WordPress directory page for it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/pressforward/
Here's the github page: https://github.com/PressForward/pressforward

Please let me know if there's anything more I can do to help the process along.

There's a small formatting problem on the "request membership" page in which the "button" coloration for "Request Membership" is too short for the words, so it looks funny. I'm attaching an image to demonstrate. There's no problem with the functionality: merely cosmetic.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #4876 (Resolved): New user profile setup bughttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/48762015-11-09T21:44:42ZLisa Rhodylrhody@gc.cuny.edu

Hi!

When creating a new profile, I experienced the following two issues using Firefox on a Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 machine: the "your profile" link does not open a new page because the page is already open underneath; dismissing a notification does not actually dismiss the notification; and changes are not saved to the public profile. Description below.

Upon first login, I was directed to the "Your profile has changed" notification window. The notification window appears on top of the Edit your Profile page. When clicking on the link associated with "Visit your profile" at the bottom, there appeared to be no action, because the page is already open underneath of the notification window, but not visible enough so that the user can see that it's there.

Note: The "Your profile has changed" notification box says the following: "Visit your profile page and click the Edit button there to get started." When you dismiss the "Your profile has changed" window, there is no Edit button on the "Your Profile" editing page... and there are no buttons in green (user expectation here being that a green Edit will appear). There are blue "save changes buttons."

In on the new user profile page, clicking the "change your photo" link redirects the user to the "Your Commons profile now has a required field" notification window. Dismissing this window will allow the user to go back to the edit profile page. This loop occurs endlessly.

However, if the user then changes information in the required profile fields and clicks "Save Changes" the changes appear to save. However, if the user then clicks on "Change Photo," the user is kicked back into the same notification loop ("Your Commons profile now has a required field").

Clicking "Sure! Take me to my Commons Profile now" takes the user back to the profile page where none of the data was actually saved and all completed fields are now blank again. The name returns to the original user id, and all other fields are empty.

It may be of use to note that any changes made in the "About You" field does not register on the characters counter below the field. I can type 5 or 200 characters, but the counter reads 0 out of 350 characters.

Finally, I tried the "save changes" button at the very bottom of the page. That one appeared to work. However, it doesn't look like it did, because when I clicked on another part of the commons, the "Your Commons profile now has a required field" window popped up again.

Please let me know if I can supply additional information!
