Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #17084 (Rejected): cuny.is links not connecting in chromehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/170842022-10-21T15:20:48ZLisa Rhodylrhody@gc.cuny.edu

Currently, when I'm using Chrome and trying to access anything with a http://cuny.is/ short links, I'm getting a "The site can't be reached cuny.is refused to connect."

The page was working fine until a new post was published. When the new post was published this morning, the rest of the landing page went white.
The PF Feed reader on the pftest.commons.gc.cuny.edu site seems to be hanging up on the TLC site and won't move on to retrieve items from feeds that have been added to the list of "subscribed feeds." From the user perspective, when I go to Dashboard -> PressForward -> Tools, and select the Retrieval Status tab, the status seems to hang at the TLC RSS feed item 3 out of 4. I've added other feeds, deleted feeds, and tried to interrupt the process, but nothing seems to have worked.
Hi all...

We were wondering if we could add the following plugin to the commons. It hasn't been updated in a year, but it's been tested up to 4.5.9. We have several sites where people want to move back and forth between visual editor and the text editor, but when they do so, problem and errors crop up. This plugin on our dev site has made a big difference.

Over the course of the day today, we are confronting problems with the GCDI (cuny.is/gcdi) and digitalfellows.commons.gc.cuny.edu sites when attempting to save a draft, publish, or preview. This has happened on the add post, page, and slider content pages as well as when we are making revisions or updates to existing posts/pages/slides. What seems to happen is that we begin the new page/post/slide or begin editing existing content, and the "save as draft", "publish" or "preview" buttons look inactive. If we attempt to navigate away from the page, the site throws the "do you want to leave this page before saving" error.

To some degree, it is as if the page has not fully loaded or is not somehow connecting with the database. As a result, the buttons remain in their "inactive" state. Actions can still happen in the post/page/slide window while the page theoretically finishes loading in the background... but after an extended period of time waiting the page never fully loads.

In the meantime, we have been copying the entire text of the post/page/slide, navigating away from the page, and clicking on "add new page" again (when content is new) or navigating back to the existing page after refreshing it and pasting in the revised content when we are finally able to pull up a page with active "publish" "save as draft" and "preview" options.

I have not experienced this problem in the past... even when the Commons was very slow to respond.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #5996 (Resolved): PressForward error: unable to access the relationsh...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/59962016-09-09T17:06:13ZLisa Rhodylrhody@gc.cuny.edu

Hi all.
I have been trying to use the PressForward plugin on my course site (dhpraxisfall16.commons.gc.cuny.edu) and each time I access the feed reader and click on an item in "all content" , I get the following error: "PressForward was unable to access the relationships database." The item does appear, however, after you click through the error. The same thing happens at each stage of the process (nominating an item, commenting on an item, opening an item in the nominations panel, sending the item to draft). The thing is that the item continues to move and you can get it to go to "draft."

I talked to Aram about it, and he seems to think that it might be that the Commons is preventing PressForward from spawning a new table to house the feed reader's content. I'm not sure if that could be the case, though because the item still shows up even after displaying the error.

Figuring out what is going on would be helpful because the PressForward outreach group is coming to do a workshop on using PressForward on September 23rd. They will probably use a stand alone sandbox instance to do the first training. However, chances are that because PF is on the Commons, we may have a sudden increase in use and want to head off any error messages before then.
