Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #18204 (Resolved): 3d Flipbook Litehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/182042023-05-11T14:49:17ZLaurie Hurson

Hi All,

I believe the 3D Flipbook lite plugin is supposed to create an output like this: https://flipbooks.futuresinitiative.org/blog/

We have a group trying to use the plugin to create a flipbook pdf on the Commons on this site: https://cunyhumanitiesalliance.org/

When they try to upload their pdf they are getting an error, see screenshot.

I tried to recreate the error on my test site here: https://classtestbmcc.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2023/05/11/flipbook-post-test/

I could not re-create the same upload error. But even once the flipbook pdf is embedded in a post, the flipbook will still not display. It flashes as it loads and then disappears. I wonder if the Commons blocking of iframes is causing this error?

I am not sure about the other error, I have asked the user for more info on the pdf they are using.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #18023 (New): Access Isssueshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/180232023-04-13T15:05:34ZLaurie Hurson

Hi All,

We are getting a few messages on zendesk about the Commons being down. I am not seeing any issues site wide however one message was about the Segal center website:

https://thesegalcenter.org/

I am getting the "The CUNY Academic Commons is experiencing technical problems. For more details, visit the Commons status blog"
when I visit this mapped domain.

Can you provide insight and/or help resolve this?

Thank you!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #17413 (Abandoned): Audio will not play on sitehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/174132022-12-20T16:34:37ZLaurie Hurson

Hi All,

We have some folks working on an oral history project here: https://mbkoharchive.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

Most of the audio files work fine but there are a few that wont play. For example on the elder page, most of the files play except "Kevin Dantzler" and "Superintendent Dr. Raymond Sanchez"
here: https://mbkoharchive.commons.gc.cuny.edu/home/

Are you able to investigate if this might be a bug on the site?

The admins have also encountered issue with uploading a 119MB audio file - is there a file size limit in place?

Hi All,

In a meeting I just had with a faculty member, I was added as an admin to this site: https://cmcs.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

I was already an author because I had joined the group but it appears my role did not update. Perhaps there is a bug here that restricted my role from getting updated from author to admin?

Thanks in advance for help with this.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #16606 (Resolved): "Edit Content" Area in Make theme Builder template...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/166062022-08-12T12:30:21ZLaurie Hurson

Hi All,

A faculty member writes:

"I was trying to edit one of my pages today and every time the Edit Content dialog box would freeze. You can add or edit content, but the dialog box would not go away. Also, there were no Visual/Text tabs. I have tried several times since morning with the same effect. What should I do?"

Screenshot of make content are attached.

The site in question is: https://phil2101bcmgluzman.commons.gc.cuny.edu

I was able to recreate the issue on the site; when I try to edit a content area on a page I get the edit content modal but it will not close when i click the "X"

This may be a bug with the make theme but it also may be a weird interaction/bug caused by plugins running on the site.

Hi All,

We give users the option to change the Creative Common license on a page-by-page or (post) basis on sites.

When trying to change the license on a page, I can click "edit" but the "choose a license" screen never loads.

This problem occurred on multiple sites, in block and classic editor.

Hi All,

There is a professor who is having an issue with students being denied access to the dashboard an posting capabilities.

It is this site: https://s22casd1717.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/

When students (and I) were added as an author we get the message "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." I was using Firefox when I received this message.

Is this a bug or interference from plugins on the site, or...? Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi All,

I noticed the alignment of the posts and images in the rowling theme seems to off. There used to be more padding/spacing between the post images.

Live Example: https://eng298.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

Hi All,

A Commons user is trying to build out the SPS faculty community site and she is unable to see the "Appearance" section of the dashboard. Screenshot attached.

I was also an admin on this site and am no longer able to access the Dashboard.

I saw in ticket 12157 Colin was also removed as admin on a site. Could these be related issues to role changes?

Hi All,

On the TLC blog Visible Pedagogy (https://vp.commons.gc.cuny.edu/) we use Jetpack's blog subscription to give readers the option to sign up to receive new posts via email. It appears the subscription feature is not working since our 40 subscribers did not receive the most recent posts via email.

I recently connected Jetpack to my WP.com account but I think this feature should work without that connection set up. Other than that, I couldn't see anything the back end to indicate why this isn't working. Any ideas what might be causing this bug?

Thanks,
Laurie
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #11043 (Resolved): All Group Admins displaying as "instructors" on Co...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/110432019-02-04T22:04:13ZLaurie Hurson

Hi All,

Marilyn is incorrectly listed as the instructor for the course "HIS127 Microhistories: Latin America" (screenshot 1) on page three of the courses tab (https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/courses/page/3/). She is an admin for the group but she shouldn't be listed as an instructor. Is there any indication as to why the system is pulling her name as the instructor? I don;t think we want all admins on sites/groups listed as instructors since this would be misleading.

I tried to correct this through the courses backend (https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=cac_course&paged=2) but for some reason I cannot see any information associated with this course (screenshot 2).

Somewhat unrelated: is it possible to sort the courses by semester or date added? When displayed alphabetically (as it is now) the same courses consistently appear on the first page.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #9137 (Resolved): Already existing site not appearing to link (couple...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/91372018-01-29T20:36:38ZLaurie Hurson

As reported by a CAC Faculty Fellow:

"he issue I’m having is a conflict regarding user roles between the “Add Users Sidebar Widget” and bbPress. Under Forum Settings for bbPress, if Auto-Role is defined to automatically give registered visitors the participant role in forums, anyone who visits the site is automatically given the role “participant” under both Site Role and Forum Role. So even if I have Add Users configured, it never asks for the password to join the site because everyone is automatically joined as “participant”. This means that they cannot post as author. But if I uncheck “Auto-Role” for bbPress, forums can’t even be seen, let alone participated in.

When I deactivate bbPress, Add Users works as it should, so I think this is a bbPress bug."
