Is it possible to request a Redmine account for jjun@gc.cuny.edu, so Juwon can respond to https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/18982 directly?

Thank you! Apologies if accounts are supposed to be requested in a different way/place.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #18739 (New): PDF Embedder Premiumhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/187392023-09-05T17:39:09ZSyelle Graves

We have a quick question about the PDF embedder: Has the Commons team ever considered the paid version? We ask because we have a newsletter with hyperlinks that we can't embed. and it would be great to have that functionality, which I believe the paid plugin has.

The only alternative I know of is to use an embedded Google doc, but we don't do that because we would have to reformat all of our existing PDFs, which we’ve tried and found not worth it (tables and images take forever to convert from Word to gdocs). Anyway, we're just curious in general if the Commons has considered or would consider it, if it's not too expensive!

Hope it's okay to ask. Thank you!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #17476 (Resolved): Broken Link Checker not sending notifications of b...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/174762023-01-11T22:04:40ZSyelle Graves

Hi team,

Something is strange on our ILETC site: the broken link checker says that it has found no broken links, and even stranger, in tools > broken links > all links > status, nearly all of the links say “not checked”, and under Details > Link last checked, all unchecked links say Never.

I looked through plugins > broken link checker > settings > Check each link is set to every 72 hours; Advanced > Link monitor is set to Run continuously and Hourly.

And I manually noticed at least one broken link, located on this page: https://iletc.commons.gc.cuny.edu/materials-resources/heritage-telecollaboration/ht-modules/ht-spanish-modules/ht-module-urban-latinx-communities/ >
The link that breaks is https://peru.com/mundo-latino/us-news/nueva-york-conoce-huerta-urbana-latinos-brooklyn-noticia-380331-1194851/.
In addition, I don’t see the broken peru.com link at all in tools > broken links, which could be a separate issue/related to the expandable menu items in the pages, perhaps?

We can manually run the broken link checker on all the links and see if that works, but is it possible to find out why the plugin is not checking them automatically? I will wait to run the checker manually so you can see dashboard the way I found it. I also included a screenshot, just in case.

Thank you!
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #17257 (Reporter Feedback): Avenir Fonthttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/172572022-11-17T16:15:28ZSyelle Graves

Hi Commons Team,

(Marilyn says "Please open up a ticket in Redmine about this.")

We have an important need for a website to be displayed in Avenir font, due to branding reasons for a DOE-funded center. The site was moved over from Wix, where Avenir was a built-in option.

We’re creating the Commons site in Canvas, which has no option for Avenir that we can see.

Is it possible that there is an option to add code to change the site’s font to Avenir? Or, are there any themes on the Commons that have Avenir font built in or allow code to allow it? Montserrat, the recommended alternative via Google fonts, looks noticeably different from our years of existing/already-distributed materials, which we don't have a way to go back in time and change. This includes our banner and logo, which we will have to change to match our (already-designed) site.

Is there anything we can do?
Many thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #16318 (Resolved): Unable to Access block editor or embed YouTube vid...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/163182022-06-29T18:24:09ZSyelle Graves

Hi all,

I'm getting a strange error/lack of access to normal editors in new pages and posts in https://iletc.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

Is it a bug in the Page Builder plugin? (The only editor consistently available.) I've tried to open the editors in multiple ways, including "Switch to Block editor." I've only noticed this yesterday, 6/28/22.

Some examples:
https://iletc.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/post.php?post=4822&action=edit&classic-editor__forget.
https://iletc.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/post.php?post=4849&action=edit&classic-editor__forget
Here is a screencast showing my attempt to switch to Gutenberg, and embed a YT video https://gc-cuny-edu.zoom.us/rec/share/Z8nEOh6xkYjtkANSZ2VDviVcAFU_ebqOkjDniFwW3S0QIUsSRGEHk7MMrKGBOxk6.atfLMxG0CDCnHRKV?startTime=1656459744000>

Scott says "I see the issue also. I went to create a new page, used the page builder, and then tried to switch to the block editor. It took me to the Classic Editor and I published the page, but the page does not resolve (gives a 400 error.) I think you should open a ticket on Redmine."

Thank you!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #14630 (Duplicate): Possible Post Order Bug?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/146302021-07-26T14:58:41ZSyelle Graves

Greetings,

I am noticing something strange about the post order on this site https://8nsshl2021.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
The posts do not seem to show by the expected default order (reverse chronological.)

In addition, when I activate the simple Custom Post Order plugin in an attempt to get the posts to show in the order we want (happens to be alphabetical by title), that solution is also foiled.

I’ve included two screenshots (dashboard and front end).

When I first set these timestamps in order to show the posts alphabetically, the posts did show in the correct order. But since then, they have reverted to an order that looks random.

I attempted to re-create this on a test site, thinking that it might be related to the 2017 theme, but I got mixed results (the "Hello World" post showed at the top, when it should show last, even when I changed themes, which seemed odd, and the rest showed in normal order. Sorry I don't have more info there.)

Let me know if I can provide any additional info/apologies if this is something simple.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #14629 (Reporter Feedback): Possible Post Order Bug?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/146292021-07-26T14:58:27ZSyelle Graves

I am encountering a mysterious problem with the Configurable Tag Cloud plugin. I set it up, I see it on the site, and it looks gorgeous; then I refresh the screen, and it disappears. It still shows in dashboard > appearance > widgets, but it does not show on the front end of the site after one refresh.

I have seen/re-created this on two different sites.

I also tried:
-multiple themes (2017, 2016, Academica, Customizr)
-different sidebars and footers
-removing all other widgets
-deactivating and reactivating the plugin
-deactivating the Widget Context plugin
-changing the number of tags it should show

I was able to capture the phenomenon in a few screencasts (sorry for the length):
https://cuny.zoom.us/rec/share/A1MV3B0p98_81BozsygRhfS7T91JqluumpqzFKt8SdpfL-Dxdn4Ae50IxvN5fIMZ.jgprAss0_0qQOPs2
https://cuny.zoom.us/rec/share/dF6p7Hsj2k5kxE157SJFgsD5DxOBpQvQoakw6rnfRSMoOnSLeXWZ_zlYti_ornv8.mwGXKKG6oW4jtnfr

Is it possible to look into this? We would love to use it on our site, because it displays more than the 45-lmit of tags in the normal tag cloud widgets, and the slim profile of the drop-down option is so useful to us.

Here is a link to the main site I’m trying to get it to work on, but again, it seems to happen in multiple Commons sites. https://8nsshl2021.commons.gc.cuny.edu/category/presentations/

Thanks so much!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #9374 (Resolved): Admins are not getting email notifications of postshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/93742018-03-09T18:20:02ZSyelle Graves

Hi Boone,
Fancy meeting you here!

Cecelia Cutler and I are admins of this site:
https://discourse2018.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/options-writing.php

Even though I have my settings set to "all email," we've never gotten any emails when users post, nor when users comment on posts.

My dashboard settings > discussion is set to "email me whenever anyone posts a comment."

I do get emails when users request to join the group, and I got an email when a comment was held in moderation.

One possible related issue is that even though I'm "following" my own site, my site is not listed in "sites I follow":

My followed sites don't include this discourse 2018 site:
https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/syellegraves/blogs/following/

Here are two examples of posts I never got notified of (nor any of their comments):
https://discourse2018.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2018/02/26/micro-expressions/
https://discourse2018.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2018/03/02/questions-for-matt-garley/

I found several closed tickets that seemed similar, like this one, but I have no idea if they're related:
https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/6818

I don't know if authors are getting emails of new posts.

Any ideas? Lmk if you need more info, or if any of my details don't make sense!

Thanks!
Syelle
