Hi Matt,

There's a new update for Events Calendar Pro (v6.0.3). Can you attach the latest version to this ticket? Thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #16792 (Resolved): Update Two Factor plugin to 0.7.2https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/167922022-09-13T17:46:54ZRaymond Hoh

As Jeremy mentioned there is a new, security update for the Two Factor plugin.

The main change is https://github.com/WordPress/two-factor/pull/453. (Specifically, https://github.com/WordPress/two-factor/pull/453/commits/5ff442a9ba868ade098826d5afcf71104ac1407b.) And the
two-factor
plugin is now hashing the key that generates the login nonce instead of leaving it in the clear in user meta.

I don't think this necessitates pushing an update to production immediately as an attacker would need DB access in order to fetch the key. Also login nonces are deleted immediately after successful 2FA logins, so the attack vector is minimal.

I'll stage the update for 2.0.8 for now and we can make a decision whether we want to push it to production before the next maintenance update.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #13721 (Resolved): Update Contact Form 7https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/137212020-12-18T01:26:39ZRaymond Hoh

Going to update and push a hotfix on production.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #12654 (Resolved): Update Google Docs Shortcode to v0.5https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/126542020-04-14T06:51:36ZRaymond Hoh

Boone, I was noticing a lot of build errors on CircleCI.

It turns out I didn't properly add the gitsubmodule for
wp-ms-request-membership
when implementing <a class="issue tracker-2 status-5 priority-4 priority-default closed" title="Feature: Add "Request to Join this Site" button? (Resolved)" href="https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/11201">#11201. This meant the "request membership to a site" feature did not roll out properly during the initial release of 1.16.

Will add it and deploy as a hotfix on production.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #11250 (Resolved): Update assets needed for GCDI sitehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/112502019-03-20T21:50:18ZRaymond Hoh

The GCDI website is going to launch with a new theme, so we need to add the theme to our GitHub repo and have various plugins for the site visible for activation.

This ticket is to track these changes.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #9810 (Resolved): Yoast SEO doesn't support the Guest Authors feature...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/98102018-05-21T22:38:50ZRaymond Hoh

See https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/9729#note-10

One more question: The meta data that I am adding to Guest Author pages through Yoast (title tags & meta descriptions) do not seem to be taking. It seems that the primary Author meta info remains. For instance, as you can see on Adam Hilton's guest author page (https://newlaborforum.commons.gc.cuny.edu/?author_name=adam-hilton), I have added Yoast SEO overrides, but the default author info (Samantha Valente) continues to show.

CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #9639 (Resolved): Users having problems posting to the forumshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/96392018-04-19T20:12:55ZRaymond Hoh

Received a report that users are having problems posting on the cbox.org forums.

I can verify the report when logging in with an account with the role of
subscriber
. However, I can post with my admin account.

When attempting to add a forum post as a subscriber, the post submits to the group homepage and doesn't redirect to the forum topic. The post isn't in the "Replies > Spam" admin dashboard page either.

I don't have access to debug the issue further.

Boone, do we have any custom code on cbox.org that might be causing this issue?
CUNY Academic Commons - Design/UX #8891 (Resolved): Usability improvements for RBE Forum Attachmentshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/88912017-11-06T20:32:27ZRaymond Hoh

This ticket is to track some improvements for RBE Forum Attachments, introduced in 1.12.

- Add an email token describing that attachments are allowed on forum posts, as well as adding the filesize limit to the email.
- Send feedback email to RBE author if there is a problem parsing or adding an attachment when replying to a forum post via email.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #7825 (Rejected): WP Cron fails to spawn on productionhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/78252017-03-22T17:31:27ZRaymond Hoh

I was checking to see if a scheduled task that I added to WP cron was there or not and it appears that WP cron doesn't appear to be working.

I used the following wp-cli command to see if WP cron was functioning correctly:

wp cron test

And that throws back the following error:

Error: WP-Cron spawn failed with error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 3001 milliseconds with 0 out
of -1 bytes received

I then checked the cron schedule with:

wp cron event list

And there are a bunch of older cron events dating as far back as March 7th that haven't run. This might be the cause of other issues such as #7346. Also, I'm guessing that no one has received a daily digest since March 7th.

I did some brief research to see what might be causing the problem and a Github user notes that
commons.gc.cuny.edu
might not be in the HOSTS file during the cURL lookup:
https://github.com/Automattic/vip-quickstart/issues/421#issuecomment-91355870

We'd have to confirm with Lihua if that is the case or not.

I also just tested WP cron on the development server and it appears to be working there though.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #4985 (Resolved): ZenDesk Feedback Tab is being deprecatedhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/49852015-12-07T19:23:44ZRaymond Hoh

We currently rely on an older feature in ZenDesk called the "Feedback Tab" to generate our ZenDesk form in the WP admin bar.

ZenDesk informed us that this feature is now scheduled to be removed on November 2016.

We will have to either use ZenDesk's newer Web Widget API or create a custom form handler ourselves.

Read https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/3660#note-8 and on for some background info.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #3780 (Resolved): wp-login.php template stylinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/37802015-02-02T05:59:48ZRaymond Hoh

Whenever we upgrade WordPress to the latest version, we have to manually reapply a fix so the login template looks alright on the main Commons site.

What we've been doing in the past is adding a call to
get_header()
directly in
wp-login.php
. While this works, the HTML markup is invalid and creates duplicate

and

tags. The login template also does not look right on certain sub-sites. For example, those using the Twenty Twelve theme will notice some irregularities.

I'd like to try and streamline this a bit by using object buffering and some custom CSS fixes.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #3691 (New): WPMU Domain Mapping Debugging on cdevhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/36912014-12-02T17:23:21ZRaymond Hoh

As per the 1.7.5 release, there was a redirect issue with the WPMU Domain Mapping plugin during upgrade to v0.5.5 that forced us to rollback to the previous version (v0.5.4.3).

Boone has suggested that we help debug the latest release on cdev so we can send a patch back to the authors.

Can you let us know when you've set up a domain for mapping on cdev and whether you require any help in debugging?

Thanks!
