Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19990 (Assigned): Issue on About Page when logged in as super adminhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/199902024-03-15T16:21:38ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

I went to update our About page to add Zach to the Commons community team listing and ran into a weird bug, where Laurie's profile photo is shown on a modal overlay. I am experiencing this both on a regular browser window in Chrome and an incognito browser window where I am logged in a super admin. Please see attached screenshot
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19676 (Abandoned): CUNY Homepage Link added to nav barhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/196762024-02-05T14:23:54ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

I'm trying to figure out how a link to the "CUNY Homepage" appeared in the nav bar of one of my course sites -- https://kinfrastructures2.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

I have zero memory of adding this link to the nav bar, though in the dashboard, I do see it in the menu listing as a custom link. I really don't think I added it though.

Do you have any idea how it might have gotten there, Boone and Ray? I guess we should allow for the possibility that I somehow put it there and forgot, but I'm pretty certain that that is not the case.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19658 (Assigned): Site Search Not working properlyhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/196582024-02-02T17:14:59ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Hi all -- I wanted to find a site created last year -- https://cunydpi.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

I couldn't remember the URL. I noticed that when I want to Sites and tried to search, neither a search for part of the URL ("cunydpi") nor the site title ("Digital Project Institute") resulted in the site coming up -- instead, no results came up.

It might be worth double-checking other aspects of search (people, groups) to determine whether they are working, as well
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19603 (Resolved): Accepting group membership leads to error messagehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/196032024-01-25T21:53:25ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Hi Ray -- I just tried to accept someone's group membership request and saw an error. Here's what happened:

I clicked on the relevant link in the email notification and I was taken to the Requests section of the group

I clicked "Accept" on the request

the screen refreshed with a red error message at the top, saying there was a problem and to try again later

I clicked on the "Requests" link again to try to reload the request. nothing was there

I checked the group membership and the acceptance had gone through.

can you please check to see whether you can replicate?

one possibility is that a co-admin of the group accepted the membership request just as I was getting to it myself, but that seems unlikely

here is the group in question: https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/ms-program-in-data-analysis-and-visualization/
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19564 (Resolved): Update About > Publications pagehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/195642024-01-19T19:43:49ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Hi All -- I just made some updates to my CV, which worked well! I have some questions, though:

1. I added a cover image and now want to remove it. However, I'm unable to get my cursor focus to be on the modal, so I can't scroll to see the options to remove the cover image. When I scroll, the background of the page moves, but I can't adjust the modal to the point where I can see any options. Screenshot attached and I can create a video if needed

2. after I updated my CV (I had one in the system previously), many content blocks were noted as problematic and I was asked to try to attempt recovery. Is this expected behavior? Screenshot attached.

Hi Scott -- thanks so much for all of the work you did to help us transition to a new help system. I know I'm being super picky here, but how big of a deal would it be for us to create a new gmail address that is commonshelp@gmail.com as opposed to commonshelpsite@gmail.com?
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19363 (Assigned): Continued HTML weirdness with forum previewhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/193632023-12-04T02:17:25ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Hi Ray --

I was just writing a message to my class using the Visual text composer, and I saw again some strangeness in the rendered HTML in the preview

I had entered a few blank lines using Control-Enter, which produced the
code in the preview

I then went to the text mode and switched back to the visual mode, which added tags to the links in the preview (which also showed up in the notification email)
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19320 (Resolved): Forum post quotation block quote format button lea...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/193202023-11-21T23:40:44ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Hi Ray --

I was writing a post for my class in a group forum using the Visual Editor, and wanted to put some of my content in a quotation/block quote. I selected text, then hit the quotation mark icon in the formatting toolbar. Doing so seemed to insert paragraph HTML tags in the resulting post. i've attached photos of the way the posts looks in the forum and via the email notification

it also looks like the line breaks rendered correctly in the email notification, but not in the BbPress version of the post
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #18921 (Resolved): Add Editoria11y plugin?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/189212023-09-27T18:45:25ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

I was having a conversation with Charlie, who mentioned that the OpenLab has found this plugin useful: https://editoria11y.princeton.edu/

Boone, do you have experience with this? Luke, Laurie, Scott - can you please take a look and see whether it is something you think we should add?
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #18865 (Resolved): Issues with Group Library Email Notifcationshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/188652023-09-19T01:24:16ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Ray, I've been working on a group library for my class tonight, and I noticed a few small issues:

I needed to move files not in a folder to a folder. So I clicked on "not in a folder" (which is so great to have) and for each one, chose a folder to put it in. Each time I did this, I inadvertently created a notification. I recommend that the default setting for editing a folder should be no notification

the notification that did come had the subject line start with "New file -- [folder name]" -- which seemed a bit odd, as I hadn't added a new file, but merely edited the folder in which an existing file appeared

I'm not sure how closely we can track different kinds of actions on files and the resulting email notifications but I wanted to mention these.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #18699 (Resolved): Problem with File Upload to Group Libraryhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/186992023-08-29T19:23:01ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Yesterday, I uploaded a file with the following name to a group library:

F'23 Gold, M (ENGL 89600, DHUM 78000).pdf

It was uploaded here -
https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/knowledge-infrastructures-2/library/

I've attached the notification message I received of the file upload here.

After the file was uploaded, a student contacted me to say he couldn't download it. I tried and I also wasn't able to download, either from the link in the notification email or directly from the library. in each case, clicking on the file redirects me to the home page of the commons. FYI, I was logged into the CAC at the time.

I suspect that there was an issue with the special characters in the file name, but let me know what you think.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #18685 (Resolved): No way to delete doc from cloned group libraryhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/186852023-08-28T16:06:59ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

I cloned a group and site for a class I'm teaching this semester. In the library that was copied over, there are multiple files (PDFs) and a doc. When I click "Edit" on the files, I have the option to delete them. However, when I click "edit" on the doc, there is no way to delete the doc from the group library.

I'm seeing this here -- https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/knowledge-infrastructures-2/library/#/ -- and the doc is called "accounts and passwords." I've edited the doc to remove information, but I would prefer to delete the doc from the library entirely.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #18679 (Rejected): Avatar image overflowing header areahttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/186792023-08-28T04:42:11ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

I just cloned an older teaching site and saw that my avatar was kind of overflowing the space for it in the header. Please see the attached screenshot.

The site is here: https://kinfrastructures2.commons.gc.cuny.edu/syllabus/
