Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Support #4004 (Resolved): "Duplicate topic detected" error message when p...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/40042015-04-18T13:31:24ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Hi Boone,

George tried to post his CAT minutes to the forum as he usually does after a meeting, but he ran into a problem. His report is below and a screenshot is attached. If you have a chance to take a quick look at this or assign to someone else, I would appreciate it. Many thanks.

The CAT forum shows the most recent post as Stephen Francouer's on altmetrics from a few days ago, and yet, if I try to post the minutes, I get "ERROR: Duplicate topic detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!" (see the attached screenshot). I think this happened once before, when there was a delay except that then my (re)sending resulted in multiple posts. Boone may have corrected for this, which is why I'm seeing the error message. I'm assuming that the message is queued up and just not going up for some reason.

From a user email:

At about 5.30 pm on Monday received this error message when trying to access material on the Commons (and the Commons directly):

Error establishing a database connection

I had previously been on the Commons site.

This is in line with chance outages that I've experienced occasionally, as well, but this is our first user report of the same.
Hi André,

Looks like the Commons was down for a few moments at about 3:19 today. It's now back up. Was submitting a ticket when it resolved, but I include the info here in case you want to investigate.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #1901 (Rejected): Commons Downhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/19012012-05-22T03:01:29ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Hi André,

I'm setting up a portfolio site for the GC Provost and I'd like to have the following domain names map to http://chasefrobinson.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ :

chasefrobinson.com
chasefrobinson.net
chasefrobinson.org
chaserobinson.net
chaserobinson.org

When you have a chance, can you set this up? And can you also let me know how to set up the DNS on the host so that it points to the Commons?

Hi André,

I'm happy to report that JITP is launching tomorrow. May I ask you to remove password protection from the blog? Many thanks.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #1568 (Resolved): Member reports problem with email notificationshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/15682012-01-28T16:27:06ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Please see related email -- member of the CAT group reports that she hasn't been receiving email notifications even though her status appears to be set to all email. We should take this as a sign of a potentially larger problem, though it's hard to know, at this point where the problem lies, since it could be the email notification system itself perhaps not sending the notifications or the CUNY email system marking them as spam. I'll add André as a watcher in case the latter case is a possibility.

Relatedly, I didn't see a way, with the new WP toolbar/BP profiles, for me to check out her actual email notification settings on the dashboard. How can I do that?
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #1362 (Resolved): Google Malware Warninghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/13622011-11-18T02:55:45ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Just doing a bit of googling and saw a link to the Commons in the results with a google-appened warning that read "This site may be compromised." Screenshot attached. Curiously, other Commons results didn't have the same warning under the links.

Clicking the "compromised" link leads to this page

Hi Boone and André,

Not sure what is going on, but the CUNY DHI site is suddenly inaccessible to me: http://cunydhi.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ . Attached is a screenshot of what I see when I visit the site.

Also had this report from Charlie: "This is really weird - I can't access the cunydhi blog, via front end or admin dashboard. Same goes for the old Living Lab site on the Commons - but I can get to others e.g. CUNY Pie, Omeka, etc. And just working my way down the blogs list on the Commons the Help & Support blog didn't load for me either (others were fine)."
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #1116 (Resolved): Image Upload Errorhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/11162011-08-16T02:09:39ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Hi André --

I ran into the following error while trying to upload an image to the Gallery Post plugin that we use for the slider on the homepage:

"The requested resource
/wp-admin/media-upload.php
does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit."

The image was small (attached to this ticket), so I imagine that this is a permissions issue.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #285 (Rejected): Check Commons mailserver configurationhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/2852010-07-27T13:29:23ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Andre, since member sign-up has been an on-going issue for us -- notification emails sometimes wind up being caught by spam filters -- we want to review some aspects of the sign-up procedure. When you have a chance, can you check to make sure that the Commons mailserver is configured correctly? Boone says (and I hope he'll fill in the details below or contact you separately by phone/email) that there are certain aspects of mailserver configuration that ISPs look at when they're looking for spam.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #125 (Rejected): Prevent Issues Site from Showing up in Google Searcheshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/1252009-12-06T06:26:33ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

I just noticed a link to the issues site in a google search. It would be great if we could prevent that from happening in the future.
