Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #1316 (Resolved): Buddy Press Docs - comments going to email, but not...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/13162011-11-03T01:30:24Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

Hi - I noticed this when I received a comment via email from Brian - the comment did not get posted to the actual Doc he was commenting on, but went out via email. Group was our CAC team - http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/cac-community-team-project-planning/

Here is the comment:

Brian Michael Foote commented on the doc Help System Standardization: at 9:01 pm, October 29, 2011
Hey all, I wanted to mention that I posted a couple of screencaps of Help pages from Etsy, Flickr, and Tumblr just to show how other folks do help. I know I could have just linked to them but…well…I didn’t. The new Codex looks great Scott! This may not be remotely helpful but personally when I look at Help and Support compared to the Codex it feels as though H&S is guided support and the Codex is almost like a manual for the Commons. I realize that isn’t entirely the case but I like how H&S has lead in questions like “How can I create a…” whereas the Codex is more itemized in its description. I’m wondering if it’d be at all helpful to package these two sections that way to members even if the information overlaps significantly. The reason for doing so would be to shape H&S into a place where people could go to learn how to do something whereas the Codex would be more about, er, less hand-holding maybe, or less Com munity Facilitator involvment over the community at large? As a blog H&S could have more of the videos we’ve talked about creating similar to the WP101 videos. We could possibly do member support through the comments on those posts as well so that we could just reference those if the same questions came up, or better, people would find them searching through the site. I’d love to know how you conceptualize the differences between the two. I see that the H&S blog is the main landing page but it’s so robust that I’m having a hard time seeing what keeps them totally distinct. Looking forward to working on this more in the meeting!

But I can't find the comment in the doc. http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/cac-community-team-project-planning/docs/help-system-standardization
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #587 (Resolved): Zotero Plugin - ZotPresshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/5872011-02-16T03:35:29Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

Our "Zotero Feeds" plugin doesn't seem to work (as Maura and I both notice). Can we install a Zotero plugin called"ZotPress" which seems very configurable and works with shortcodes?
Valerie Futch switched themes from Green Park to Woo Canvas Theme, and then switched back to Green Park. In the process, she seems to have lost access to the tabs on the dashboard which are used to control Green Park. Could this be a rights issue? And if so, can her rights be restored. It appears that she still has rights to post to the blog.
I've tried this on several blogs and cannot active the plugin if it hasn't been activated before. When I try, I get directed to the first blog I created on the Commons. Not sure why... WP 3.0 ??

Also - just wanted to mention, it would be good to upgrade this plugin, as there are many new Apture features.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #529 (Rejected): Paste Plain Text icon not working in BP "wiki" p...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/5292011-01-02T16:44:21Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

When I click on the paste plain text icon, I get an alert box saying "paste.plaintext_mode_sticky" and nothing happens.

When I click on "Paste from Word" it works great! I can cut text with hyperlinks and formatting and paste them into the box, and they get transferred over intact.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #528 (Resolved): Delete pages using new BP "wiki" plugin?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/5282011-01-02T16:37:48Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

I am not sure, but do we let admins of a group delete pages? I see that page titles can be changed and content removed - so this is a very low priority (and actually not something we let regular users of the wiki do).
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #518 (Resolved): Search box for new BP "wiki-like" pluginhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/5182010-12-29T00:09:56Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

I am using Atahualpa for the Commons Codex, and I tried to go to the Options in the dashboard - but they are gone. Previously, the theme had an options tab that let you control many configurations, but I don't see it anymore. Do we need an upgrade for new version of WP?
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #448 (Resolved): Media Element HTML5 Player Pluginhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/4482010-12-08T05:28:45Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

I tried for a long time to get this plugin to work. It works perfectly for audio. But for video, I always get an error message - [ERROR: No URL was passed to the generic video BBCode]. I am using a simple short code as described in the documentation. I uploaded a test video and keyed in the following:
[video src="http://testprivategroup.commons.gc.cuny.edu/files/2010/12/Wildlife.wmv" width="640" height="360"]

As I said, a similarly formatted shortcode for audio works fine.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #447 (Resolved): Widgetize Google Gadjets pluginhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/4472010-12-08T05:17:00Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

I installed this plugin and found that there is some kind of conflict (maybe with jquery??). When I add the embedded code in the widget, and saved it, the sidebar had parts of the Commons dropdown options from the header on the sidebar rather than content from the gadget. This happened with three gadgets I tried.

The following shows the sidebar of a test blog with the American Memories collection gadget from Library of Congress: http://testprivategroup.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #371 (Resolved): Google Maps Embed - WordPress Plug-in Requesthttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/3712010-10-12T23:49:13Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

Hi - We currently have the "Google Maps Quicktag" plug-in which doesn't really allow a user to embed a google map into a page or post. It lets you add a link to a google map and isn't very user friendly.

I was wondering if we can install "Google Maps Embed" - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-maps-embed/ - which adds an icon to the WSIWYG editor and is very easy to use. This is by far not an urgent request - just a nice to have...

Thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #299 (Resolved): Wiki Sidebar Search Optionhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/2992010-08-23T23:14:30Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

The input box for the search option on the Wiki sidebar has disappeared.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #294 (Resolved): TagAsCategory extension on the Wikihttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/2942010-08-18T00:08:37Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

The TagAsCategory extension works perfectly if your page has already been tagged to a category. Otherwise it is not available. In separate instances of MediaWiki, the extension kicks in right away. Must be some kind of conflict that's keeping it from appearing on a page that has not been previously tagged.
