We are publishing an article that would include an embedded iframe of the following HTML document (http://www.shawnaross.com/jitp/). In the past we have been able to host a version of the HTML document on GC servers and receive a custom shortcode to allow for the iframe. We'd like to do this again.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #3257 (Resolved): New Prelude 14 themehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/32572014-06-09T18:29:09ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

Attached is a new Prelude 14 theme. This theme should be made available only to the blog at:

preludenyc14.commons.gc.cuny.edu.

If this could make it into the Commons upgrade on June 11th that would be much appreciated as we need to release this page ASAP in order to begin advertising and marketing the festival. Thank you very much.

Attached are updates to the Prelude 12 (preludenyc12.commons.gc.cuny.edu) and 13 (preludenyc2013.commons.gc.cuny.edu) themes. There are minor fixes including a fix suggested by Boone for an issue we ran into with image urls and changing of the VHOST on these sites. Please let me know if you have any questions about them.

As before, these themes should only be accessible to their respective WP sites.

The Journal of American Drama and Theatre (JADT) and European Stages (ES) are now fully up and running with an issue live on the Commons. Any publicity on the Commons landing page or elsewhere would be much appreciated.

Thanks as always!

I believe that the plugin Scribd iPaper which has allowed for Sribd embeds for a while, but hasn't been updated in many years, finally died with a recent WP upgrade. I think that the fuctionality can be reproduced somewhat by Jetpack, so you might want to alert people using the old plugin to switch.

Another solution is the new (but unrated) plugin Scribd Doc Embedder. I would like to request that it be added to the Commons as it provides extra shortcode customization functionality that Jetpack does not provide.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #3103 (Resolved): Updates to two themes for MESTC journalshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/31032014-03-11T00:51:21ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

I know that this is lasts minute before tomorrow's upgrade, but these two themes have minor CSS and PHP changes that I'd like have updated on the Commons as we are about to launch the two journals. They already exist and are in use. Hope this can happen.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #2964 (Resolved): Commons specific error occurring with JADT themehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/29642014-01-16T17:57:04ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

For the most part, the JADT theme is working on the Commons, except for a problem with the List Category Posts plugin I am using (http://wordpress.org/plugins/list-category-posts/). All the features of the plugin work except for the capability of assigning a template for the plugin from within a custom WP theme. I am able to use the plugin and it will display the proper results until I add the template parameter, and then it fails. There is a lot of structural change and styling within the template I designed and it is required for the theme to function properly.

I have tried to troubleshoot the problem by comparing my use of the plugin on my multi-site dev setup and I can't see anywhere in the template I designed for the JADT theme where problems would have occurred in the transition to the Commons. There are no absolute paths that would cause any problems and the shortcode in the page I am using it on is identical in both sites. I even checked to see if there could be a problem between the versions of List Category Posts that are on the Commons versus my development setup, but this templating feature is available in both.

I am wondering if there is a permissions problem on the folder where the template is stored in my theme (folder name: /JADT/list-category-posts/) or if the Commons is preventing the processing of some code for some reason. When I use my browser to inspect the page I see that none of the category listing has occurred when the template parameter is active and even the standard WP footer for my theme does not appear. This makes me think that there is some kind of stall in the process of retrieving and implementing the various php files involved in constructing the page.

I don't know if this is within the scope of Commons support, but can't really penetrate to some of the levels I need to fully troubleshoot so I thought I'd ask. You can see how the home page is supposed to look here: http://segalcenterdigital.org/WPdev/jadtdev/

I am hoping that we can upgrade The Events Calendar plugin on the Commons to 3.0.3 on the Sept. 1st commons upgrade.
I've been working with The Events Calendar 3.0 and adjusting themes and it seems like the wonkiness of the big version shift has been ironed out. As such I have built the most recent Prelude.13 Festival theme to work with Events Calendar 3.0 and am upgrading our other Events-Calendar-reliant themes to be functional with it. These two themes are the Prelude.12 and MESTC themes and I will submit separate Redmine tickets for them soon.

Please let me know if this is possible ASAP as I will have to do some serious alterations for these themes to continue working with The Events Calendar 2.0 versions otherwise.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #2682 (Resolved): Working with WP Post to PDF Pluginhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/26822013-07-25T17:15:24ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

I have been experimenting with a very good post to PDF plugin for the European Stages site and have been very happy with it (it was in my plugin request list). There is only one problem and upon further research I fear that it may not be reconcilable on the Commons, and that is the default header included in the PDF (Scott Voth wrote about it on the codex here: http://codex.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2013/07/21/post-to-pdf-plugin/#comment-143). It is easy to change the header on a single install by swapping out this file: /wp-content/uploads/wp-post-to-pdf-logo.png. But that gets unusual for a multi-site installation as all sites would share the same header. Scott recommends us just replacing that header with the Commons logo (kind of like Anthologize does with that same header place in its PDF creation, especially since it seems like both are using the same TCPDF engine), which would be fine, but ultimately I would like to put the European Stages header on those PDFs and it would be nice to use this feature and be able to customize PDFs on other sites. (for journals like ES this functionality is particularly useful for readers who are not quite screen savvy and who prefer to read paper offline)

I was wondering if there was any way to make this site-specific header possible and if the Commons would be interested in making the minor tweak to the plugin so it is more functional for multi-site (I have put in a comment on the Wordpress plugin and contacted him through his website asking for the same, but I think the developer is very intermittently interested in the plugin). Alternatively could the Commons logo or no logo at all replace the currently pretty awful header image so that it would be better aesthetically when put to use.

Cheers
Kimon
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #2677 (Resolved): Broken File names due to repointing of preludenyc.orghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/26772013-07-17T19:32:35ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

In moving preludenyc.org to point to a new commons blog, all of the images on preludenyc12.commons.gc.cuny.edu have broken. It seems to be because when they were inserted they were given the domain of preludenyc.org like this: http://preludenyc.org/files/2012/09/Mac-Wellman.jpg. But that no longer works and the address should read http://preludenyc12.commons.gc.cuny.edu.org/files/2012/09/Mac-Wellman.jpg, which makes them work. We can go back and fix links manually, but this seems like it will be a problem that we will have to deal with every year and one that hopefully has an alternative solution.

Sorry to be creating such a stream of issues on Redmine. Thanks for all your help.
