Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #5571 (Resolved): Embedding iframe of HTML content on jitp.common...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/55712016-05-16T17:04:45ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

We are publishing an article that would include an embedded iframe of the following HTML document (http://www.shawnaross.com/jitp/). In the past we have been able to host a version of the HTML document on GC servers and receive a custom shortcode to allow for the iframe. We'd like to do this again.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #3258 (Resolved): Changing preludenyc.org pointer to Prelude 14https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/32582014-06-09T18:32:21ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

Currently we have preludenyc.org pointing to http://preludenyc2013.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ with the new festival coming in October we are going to shift that domain to http://preludenyc14.commons.gc.cuny.edu/. This is just like what we did last year in this ticket: http://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/2668

If this could be done in conjunction with the June 11th update of the Commons, that would be great.

The Journal of American Drama and Theatre (JADT) and European Stages (ES) are now fully up and running with an issue live on the Commons. Any publicity on the Commons landing page or elsewhere would be much appreciated.

Thanks as always!

We are moving towards liveness for two journal sites and would like to point domains at the Commons.

Here are the new domains and the existing commons sites:

jadtjournal.org -> jadt.commons.gc.cuny.edu
europeanstages.org -> europeanstages.commons.gc.cuny.edu

I have pointed those domains to 146.96.128.200 as we have in the past with preludenyc.org and thesegalcenter.org

Should I do anything else?

Kimon
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #2964 (Resolved): Commons specific error occurring with JADT themehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/29642014-01-16T17:57:04ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

For the most part, the JADT theme is working on the Commons, except for a problem with the List Category Posts plugin I am using (http://wordpress.org/plugins/list-category-posts/). All the features of the plugin work except for the capability of assigning a template for the plugin from within a custom WP theme. I am able to use the plugin and it will display the proper results until I add the template parameter, and then it fails. There is a lot of structural change and styling within the template I designed and it is required for the theme to function properly.

I have tried to troubleshoot the problem by comparing my use of the plugin on my multi-site dev setup and I can't see anywhere in the template I designed for the JADT theme where problems would have occurred in the transition to the Commons. There are no absolute paths that would cause any problems and the shortcode in the page I am using it on is identical in both sites. I even checked to see if there could be a problem between the versions of List Category Posts that are on the Commons versus my development setup, but this templating feature is available in both.

I am wondering if there is a permissions problem on the folder where the template is stored in my theme (folder name: /JADT/list-category-posts/) or if the Commons is preventing the processing of some code for some reason. When I use my browser to inspect the page I see that none of the category listing has occurred when the template parameter is active and even the standard WP footer for my theme does not appear. This makes me think that there is some kind of stall in the process of retrieving and implementing the various php files involved in constructing the page.

I don't know if this is within the scope of Commons support, but can't really penetrate to some of the levels I need to fully troubleshoot so I thought I'd ask. You can see how the home page is supposed to look here: http://segalcenterdigital.org/WPdev/jadtdev/

Attached is a new Wordpress theme for the Journal of American Drama and Theatre(JADT) that we are moving to the Commons. Please make this only available to http://jadt.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

In addition, I have included an update to the European Stages theme that already exists on the Commons.

It would be great if these could make it into the January 11th Commons update as we plan on using them next week. Thanks.

We will be making VHOST redirect requests for both of these sites at a later date.

Found a couple of bugs in our theme (two broken links and a piece of wrongly functioning PHP) that we have ironed out. We are going live today with the site and while we don't want to rush this through ahead of the Commons update on Wednesday, I would like to ensure that this little fix makes it to that update.

This is a new theme to be used exclusively with the site http://preludenyc2013.commons.gc.cuny.edu.

It would be great if this could be included in the Sept. 1 Commons upgrade.

This is an updated version of the Prelude.12 theme to work with The Events Calendar ver. 3.0 plugin.

(Note: this is different from the Prelude.13 theme which is a completely new theme)

It would be great if this could be included in the Sept. 1 Commons upgrade.

This is an updated version of the MESTC theme to work with The Events Calendar ver. 3.0 plugin.

It would be great if this could be included in the Sept. 1 Commons upgrade.

Thanks
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #2734 (Resolved): Upgrade of The Events Calendar to 3.0.3https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/27342013-08-25T21:47:15ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

I am hoping that we can upgrade The Events Calendar plugin on the Commons to 3.0.3 on the Sept. 1st commons upgrade.
I've been working with The Events Calendar 3.0 and adjusting themes and it seems like the wonkiness of the big version shift has been ironed out. As such I have built the most recent Prelude.13 Festival theme to work with Events Calendar 3.0 and am upgrading our other Events-Calendar-reliant themes to be functional with it. These two themes are the Prelude.12 and MESTC themes and I will submit separate Redmine tickets for them soon.

Please let me know if this is possible ASAP as I will have to do some serious alterations for these themes to continue working with The Events Calendar 2.0 versions otherwise.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #2677 (Resolved): Broken File names due to repointing of preludenyc.orghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/26772013-07-17T19:32:35ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

In moving preludenyc.org to point to a new commons blog, all of the images on preludenyc12.commons.gc.cuny.edu have broken. It seems to be because when they were inserted they were given the domain of preludenyc.org like this: http://preludenyc.org/files/2012/09/Mac-Wellman.jpg. But that no longer works and the address should read http://preludenyc12.commons.gc.cuny.edu.org/files/2012/09/Mac-Wellman.jpg, which makes them work. We can go back and fix links manually, but this seems like it will be a problem that we will have to deal with every year and one that hopefully has an alternative solution.

Sorry to be creating such a stream of issues on Redmine. Thanks for all your help.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #2672 (Resolved): The Events Calendar Plugin Update installed on Commonshttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/26722013-07-15T20:43:30ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

The most recent events calendar plugin update (a big step up to 3.0) is very buggy and has broken our entire site, in formatting and functionality. There are a number of unresolved issues still on the WP forums about this plugin update. There are missing div and class tags in some of the core query outputs and a bug that causes all past events (in our case over 10 years worth of events) to be inaccessible without hacking the plugin code.

I was hoping that we could roll back to the previous version (2.0.11) and wait until the bug chatter dies down on the forum before the Commons upgrades again. It would also be great if this could happen with haste and before the Aug 11 summer rollout. Thank you.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #2668 (Resolved): Transferring preludenyc.org pointer to preludenyc20...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/26682013-07-11T14:50:45ZKimon Keramidaskimon@keramidas.com

Currently we have preludenyc.org pointing to http://preludenyc2012.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ with the new festival coming in October we are going to shift that domain to http://preludenyc2013.commons.gc.cuny.edu/. We can change the domain pointer on the registration end, but I know last year you all needed to do something on the Commons backend to allow that to happen. Could that happen soon? and if so on what kind of time schedule? Does that fall into the monthly update schedule, if so we would love to expedite it today.

Thanks for this and all you guys do for us.
