Let's use this ticket to track the project of making the Commons into an oAuth provider. This will allow third-party applications to offer account creation and authentication through the Commons.

Hi Commons Team,

I've tried several times to remove the "Sociable" plugin from the JITP Staging Site (http://jitpstaging.commons.gc.cuny.edu) but the plugin will not deactivate. After clicking the deactivate button, the browser refreshes but the plugin is still listed as active. This happens in Fire Fox and Chrome.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #6332 (New): Allow uploaded files to be marked as private in an a...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/63322016-10-18T03:41:59ZBoone Gorgesboone@gorg.es

asc/desc sorting. I like the idea but it will be hard to fit into the interface in a way that makes sense, especially since there are multiple kinds of sorting that are salient (created date, edited date, commented date)

Hi All,

I've had a few people contact me to ask about where they might post announcements. I know we've talked about something like this in the past, but here are a few ideas:

1. A general area where people could post announcements. We could have a checkbox on sign up that asks people whether they want to subscribe by email
2. A craigslist type bulletin board -- perhaps done through a group, but is access more through the forum interface than through a group interface
3. A general group for announcements.

What do you all think? I think that, generally, it should be an easy to use space that allows opt-in subscriptions.
