Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #20062 (Staged for Production Release): Quick Edit Feature Resets Pos...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/200622024-03-26T23:03:59ZZachary Muhlbauer

When I use the Quick Edit option to make changes to an existing post, the author of the post automatically resets to the first individual listed in the site's user list, regardless of who the original author was.

I replicated the issue in Firefox and Safari as well as across multiple themes. I also spoke with another instructor and confirmed that the Quick Edit option resets post authorship for them, too.

It's a nasty little bug if only because determining the original author of certain posts can be tricky and time-consuming when there isn't an available edit history for the post.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19944 (New): Dealing with BuddyPress 12.x upgrade, pt. 2https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/199442024-03-11T22:29:12ZRaymond Hoh

Follow-up to #19493. Just wanted to make sure my comments in https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/19493#note-10 are brought forward to a future release:

For more pronounced changes, I created a new branch -- bp12-part2 -- that namely switches out all BuddyPress 12 deprecated function calls. We can roll that out in a later maintenance release.

I've been testing
bp12-part2
with BP Classic deactivated and with
BP_IGNORE_DEPRECATED
set to
true
and these are some issues I encountered:

BP Event Organiser needs some minor adjustments to account for group subnav registration: https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/bp-event-organiser/compare/1.2.x...bp12#diff-b0397cc71e95a79af968e8dadb7b8e525085f462c5a88ac11c8bdb86ecd7173d

bbPress does some conditional checks that needs to be delayed to the
'bp_parse_query'
hook. This fixes an issue with the bbPress stylesheet not loading on group forum pages I mentioned above in comment 4 amongst other permission-related cap overrides for the current user.

I need Git permissions to the
tapor-client
repo so I can push changes and pin a new version for our
cac
repo.

About the bbPress load order issue:

Furthermore, when running bp-classic, I had to do some additional work to ensure that bbPress's BP compatibility layer is loaded in time, and is loaded only once. Like the approach above, it's pretty hacky (requiring a static variable to prevent double-loading) but it basically works. Here's the full patch: https://github.com/openlab-at-city-tech/openlab/commit/27f2a68354550295d85f0f3c5aaafc55004268f0

I tackled this a little differently in my bbPress commit. See https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/e2145f2462d3d2cbe2f16de914e7875c48b6e1cc#diff-0f345898d2c7666be77acc95ec88e90e98a407644a4ce5431b3fb96d06749039 and the constructor and includes() portion of https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/e2145f2462d3d2cbe2f16de914e7875c48b6e1cc#diff-a8d1ad6e40805411d0e557ee641e9d47c6cc3d0f17ef107f22ac729255439a5a . I think the constructor changes might fix your double load order issue. Can you do some tests and see if this works for you, Boone?

This doesn't need to go in tomorrow's 2.3.4 release. Let's put this in 2.3.5 or later.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19828 (New): CBOX Classic Possible Bughttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/198282024-02-25T22:54:50Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

I went through the process of creating a group on CDev. When I hit "create group and continue" I got the "there has been a critical error on this website" page.
Greetings,

I am noticing something strange about the post order on this site https://8nsshl2021.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
The posts do not seem to show by the expected default order (reverse chronological.)

In addition, when I activate the simple Custom Post Order plugin in an attempt to get the posts to show in the order we want (happens to be alphabetical by title), that solution is also foiled.

I’ve included two screenshots (dashboard and front end).

When I first set these timestamps in order to show the posts alphabetically, the posts did show in the correct order. But since then, they have reverted to an order that looks random.

I attempted to re-create this on a test site, thinking that it might be related to the 2017 theme, but I got mixed results (the "Hello World" post showed at the top, when it should show last, even when I changed themes, which seemed odd, and the rest showed in normal order. Sorry I don't have more info there.)

Let me know if I can provide any additional info/apologies if this is something simple.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #14113 (Hold): Block Editor Not Working on this page - Json errorhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/141132021-03-05T15:10:25Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

I was helping Marlene with spacing of headers and it seems like the Block Editor stopped working. I saw an JSON error message at the top, but don't see it anymore. Classic editor and Elementor editor work okay

I have retested following the release and there are still some issues:

the footer is does not display correctly

"Create A New Doc" goes to create a new group/site/group+site (Special Pages)

Site Home goes to CAC Homepage (Special Pages)

Recently Active button shows all Commons members who are recently active

Who is Online shows all Commons members who are online

If you change the theme to a non commentpress theme, and try to change back, you can only change to Comment Default theme, not the Modern theme (you have to deactivate plugin and reactivate to get to the Modern theme again)

Most of these are not terribly serious, and the plugin still works, but it would be nice to get them fixed in the future, when there is time.
AD/O365 Transition from NonMatric to Matriculated Students - Feature #12062 (In Progress): creat...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/120622019-11-12T20:50:21ZEmilio RodriguezCUNY Academic Commons - Bug #9515 (Reporter Feedback): Text to Speech plugin - "More Slowly" chec...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/95152018-04-04T14:06:23Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

We had to deactivate one plugin (media element html5) to get some pages to show the change - maybe another plugin is causing troubles? The checkbox is in the footer of each page.

Member Raffi Khatchadourian reports that when he uses the export functionality for a recurrent event, only one instance is copied.

"I tried it on this calendar: http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/cuny-committee-on-academic-technology-62702785/events/cuny-cat-meeting/. I actually just opened the downloaded file in a text editor and noticed no reoccurrences. "

I tried this in cdev - but got a permissions error, so can't say if I can reproduce.

I also tried with external calendars, with mixed results. In MS Outlook, the recurring event worked as expected. In Google Calendar (not exactly sure if I am doing it correctly) but when I imported the ICS file - I only got one event, rather that the whole series.
