Please add a DBLP field (e.g., https://dblp.org/pid/42/3722.html) to the Commons profile (e.g., https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/khatchad/profile/edit/group/1). It would be similar to the "Google Scholar" field that is already present.
Hi All,

We are getting a few messages on zendesk about the Commons being down. I am not seeing any issues site wide however one message was about the Segal center website:

https://thesegalcenter.org/

I am getting the "The CUNY Academic Commons is experiencing technical problems. For more details, visit the Commons status blog"
when I visit this mapped domain.

Can you provide insight and/or help resolve this?

Hi All,

The folks working on the Oral History archive I mentioned on Friday are asking about adding fonts to the commons. From the user team:

"Would it be possible to add these fonts to the Commons system for our Land Use Organizing Oral History website? One is free and one needs to be purchased. Can I pay for the font that needs to be purchased? I’ve cc’ed my collaborator, Selina Byeon, here who is working on building the site."

The two fonts are:

Flash D Light (for headers and large text)
https://www.youworkforthem.com/font/T1087/flash/buying/

League Spartan (for sub-headers and body text)
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/League+Spartan?query=league+sparta

Are wew able to add these fonts? What is process for adding a paid tool? Do they need to purchase first and then we add?

Thanks for you help.

Laurie
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #16307 (New): Add brief messaging to accept/decline group membership ...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/163072022-06-27T22:13:20ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

This is not a huge issue, but when I decline a group membership request, I usually like to write to the person who made the request to tell them why I had to decline. Currently, there is no way to do that other than going to the person's profile and sending a message through it. we might want to add a space for messaging to the decline action, so that people receive the decline notification along with a rationale. But maybe this is too small an edge case to be worth of development -- I'd guess this happens only a few times a year
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #11789 (New): Ability to remove item from Courses listhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/117892019-08-26T13:56:01ZLaurie Hurson

Hi All,

I made a test course with the teaching template a few weeks ago called 'author name test". It was added to the courses list and I think it should be removed but I do not know how to remove it. I tried changing the "purpose" of the site but it remains in the courses tab list.

Should we have a way to remove courses from this list in case someone uses the teaching template but is not actually using the site for a course? Or should sites be removed from this list if the purpose is changed?
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #10226 (New): Add "My Courses" to drop down listhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/102262018-08-26T19:55:18Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

A suggestion from the last CAC meeting - can we add "My Courses" to the "My" dropdown menu? For a professor or student, it would show only his or her courses, perhaps divided between current and past. This would help site navigation.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #9729 (New): 503 Errors showing on newlaborforum.cuny.eduhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/97292018-05-08T12:46:01ZDiane Krauthamer

Hi there - newlaborforum.cuny.edu is generating a lot of 503 errors, causing issues with the crawl. I seemed to temporarily resolve this issue by deactivating the Jetpack plugin, but now it appears to be a server issue perhaps. I have attached a screenshot of how these errors appear on a recent crawl report.
Any assistance with resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #5488 (New): Add a "last edited by" field to Social Paper group direc...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/54882016-04-22T02:05:42ZBoone Gorgesboone@gorg.es

I have a private paper on social paper. To save it, I have to press "publish." That seems a little counterintuitive. I had to do a double take to make sure that the paper was indeed private.
CUNY Academic Commons - Design/UX #4226 (New): Add option to connect a Doc with a Grouphttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/42262015-06-25T15:03:13ZSamantha Raddatz

When creating a new document, it is not clear how/if it is associated with one of the groups. Unless the user chooses a group before clicking ‘Create New Doc,’ there is no way to associate a document with a group using this form.

Add an option for connecting a group to the ‘Create New Doc’ form (in a similar format to ‘Tags’ and ‘Parent’).
CUNY Academic Commons - Design/UX #4225 (New): Add information to DIRT page (in Create a Group)https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/42252015-06-25T15:01:53ZSamantha Raddatz

The eighth step, to enable ‘Digital Research Tools,’ does not have any explanatory information about what this tab offers. Can it be customized or is it a set list of tools chosen by CUNY?

Add information about these tools, why a group might want to add this tab, or link to Codex (http://codex.commons.gc.cuny.edu/dirt/)
If customizable, add those options here too.
CUNY Academic Commons - Design/UX #4222 (New): Add information to 'Delete Account' pagehttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/42222015-06-25T14:57:05ZSamantha Raddatz

This page could offer information about how to delete certain aspects of the account (posts, messages, groups) in order to discourage the user from deleting everything.
