<p>When I use the Quick Edit option to make changes to an existing post, the author of the post automatically resets to the first individual listed in the site's user list, regardless of who the original author was.</p>
<p>I replicated the issue in Firefox and Safari as well as across multiple themes. I also spoke with another instructor and confirmed that the Quick Edit option resets post authorship for them, too.</p>

<p>As you may or may not know, CUNY has been transitioning all faculty, staff, and students to Microsoft Office 365 cloud. So instead of having Microsoft Office software, everyone now gets these tools and saves docs etc in the 365 cloud.</p>
<p>Someone in a training asked about embedding the Live cloud-hosted word docs into a commons site, similar to how Google docs works, so that when they update their Word doc the commons embed is also updated. This is different from how Word and the Commons works now, where faculty have to upload the static document.</p>

<p>I am supporting a faculty member who will be teaching a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course on the Commons starting in March. In COIL courses, CUNY students take a course in tandem with other international students and they work together and interact online. This professor would like to allow the co-teachers and students from two other universities to join the COIL course site. In total it would be about 30-40 non-cuny teachers and students signing up for the coil course.</p>

<p>Recently, a faculty member asked about installing the PRO version the plugin 'Draw Attention' (<a class="external" href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/draw-attention/">https://wordpress.org/plugins/draw-attention/</a>) for image annotation for her art history class. The free version currently on the Commons only allows annotation on one image per site and she was hoping to use it for student assignments (30-60 images per site). The plugin does not have front-end annotation but rather requires the user to create the annotations through the dashboard area of the plugin. In the dashboard, users select the clickable areas for front-end users to explore. From what I can tell in the free version, like a post, a user chooses an image, adds content (annotations) and posts the image. <p>The plugin is fairly easy to use through the dashboard interface but its unclear whether users can annotate images posted by others (but probably not, like posts)so its possible that this plugin does not allow for shared/collaborative annotation on a image.</p>
<p>Just FYI, the PRO version costs $74/year for one site and $124/year for unlimited sites, but I know the Commons tends to steer away from paid plugins. Moreover, dashboard editing and non-collaborative annotation may not be not ideal for a class setup. I think front-end annotation might work better since having users access the image through the back-end and set up annotations might be confusing for students and require admin user status as opposed to author status.</p>
<p>I'm not sure of other tools that do collaborative image annotation (other than VOCAT). One possibility is Demon Image Annotation but this plugin might work the same way as Draw Attention</p>

Newsletters are not sending out. You then have to go in and manually run the queue but this takes forever and stops on its own unless you go back and run again. Any idea what is happening? Every time we send out a newsletter using this plugin there is a broken image with the letters Hr at the bottom. When I went to the approval screen (Group Home page > Admin > Requests) the "Accept" button and the text of the message were overlaid on top of one another.
