Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #20062 (Staged for Production Release): Quick Edit Feature Resets Pos...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/200622024-03-26T23:03:59ZZachary Muhlbauer

When I use the Quick Edit option to make changes to an existing post, the author of the post automatically resets to the first individual listed in the site's user list, regardless of who the original author was.

I replicated the issue in Firefox and Safari as well as across multiple themes. I also spoke with another instructor and confirmed that the Quick Edit option resets post authorship for them, too.

It's a nasty little bug if only because determining the original author of certain posts can be tricky and time-consuming when there isn't an available edit history for the post.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #19828 (New): CBOX Classic Possible Bughttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/198282024-02-25T22:54:50Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

Paul Schacht has an academic site at Geneseeo. Looks like on the group sidebar the link to the Group site is not formatted correctly - not going to the group site subdomain. It's acting like the site is not configured as a subdomain.

See https://commonsinabox.org/groups/help-support/forum/topic/group-blog-links-redirect-to-login-page/
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #17551 (New): Events Calendar viewhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/175512023-01-24T21:44:09Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

When I switch from "List View" to "Calendar View" I get a "Loading" icon spinning around. In debugger seems like some CORS issue.

I wanted to get some screenshots of December events, so I "back arrowed" to December. When I go back to list view everything is fine. But I am still in January, not December.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #14629 (Reporter Feedback): Possible Post Order Bug?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/146292021-07-26T14:58:27ZSyelle Graves

Greetings,

I am noticing something strange about the post order on this site https://8nsshl2021.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
The posts do not seem to show by the expected default order (reverse chronological.)

In addition, when I activate the simple Custom Post Order plugin in an attempt to get the posts to show in the order we want (happens to be alphabetical by title), that solution is also foiled.

I’ve included two screenshots (dashboard and front end).

When I first set these timestamps in order to show the posts alphabetically, the posts did show in the correct order. But since then, they have reverted to an order that looks random.

I attempted to re-create this on a test site, thinking that it might be related to the 2017 theme, but I got mixed results (the "Hello World" post showed at the top, when it should show last, even when I changed themes, which seemed odd, and the rest showed in normal order. Sorry I don't have more info there.)

Let me know if I can provide any additional info/apologies if this is something simple.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #14113 (Hold): Block Editor Not Working on this page - Json errorhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/141132021-03-05T15:10:25Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

I was helping Marlene with spacing of headers and it seems like the Block Editor stopped working. I saw an JSON error message at the top, but don't see it anymore. Classic editor and Elementor editor work okay

I have retested following the release and there are still some issues:

the footer is does not display correctly

"Create A New Doc" goes to create a new group/site/group+site (Special Pages)

Site Home goes to CAC Homepage (Special Pages)

Recently Active button shows all Commons members who are recently active

Who is Online shows all Commons members who are online

If you change the theme to a non commentpress theme, and try to change back, you can only change to Comment Default theme, not the Modern theme (you have to deactivate plugin and reactivate to get to the Modern theme again)

Most of these are not terribly serious, and the plugin still works, but it would be nice to get them fixed in the future, when there is time.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #9515 (Reporter Feedback): Text to Speech plugin - "More Slowly" chec...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/95152018-04-04T14:06:23Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

Hi Ray - Thanks for activating. Samuel is reporting that the checkbox "More Slowly" is not slowing down the speech when he checks it. Can you take a look? Site is https://elementaryitalian.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

We had to deactivate one plugin (media element html5) to get some pages to show the change - maybe another plugin is causing troubles? The checkbox is in the footer of each page.

I noticed this morning that on the Add New User screen for blogs you're directed to input an email address, but the search box doesn't seem to work with one. I entered several email addresses of users I know to be on the Commons (using those same email addresses) and no one came up. I also failed to get the confirmation screen when I entered an email address. The box seems to only take names or usernames. I can search for myself by my first name, for example, or my username, but when I put in my email address I don't come up (this was true for others as well).

I'm not sure what the easiest solution is, changing the directions to ask for name/username input or adding the ability to search by email address.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #8440 (New): Create Test Email Accounts for Onboarding Projecthttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/84402017-07-26T11:05:46ZStephen Realsbrnlb@gmail.com

This issue is intended to ensure that we don't forget to create a bunch (not sure how big a bunch is) of test email accounts that we can "invite" to join the commons when testing the upcoming revised Onboarding process.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #6749 (New): BPEO iCal request can trigger very large number of DB qu...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/67492016-11-16T03:09:54ZBoone Gorgesboone@gorg.es

See attached log file.

A quick look at the file suggests that this is an inherent problem with EO, not with BPEO - it's using some WP functions that aren't cache-friendly, and it's using some cache-friendly functions in ways that aren't very efficient. But I thought I'd bring it to your attention, in case (a) there's anything here that suggests a BPEO improvement, or (b) there's a low-hanging PR we can send back up to EO. (Something like a call to _prime_post_caches()?)
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #6356 (Reporter Feedback): Should Subscribe2 be deprecated?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/63562016-10-19T14:36:44ZLuke Waltzerlwaltzer@gc.cuny.edu

We might want to investigate the Subscribe 2 plugin... these users -- https://jitp.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=s2_tools -- don't look real.

Don't think it causes much harm, but we might look to see if this plugin is being utilized on the Commons and deprecate if not. Could be part of a larger effort to identify best methods for facilitating notification of new posts and push users towards that solution.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #5827 (Assigned): Academic Interests square bracket links not workinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/58272016-07-23T18:29:11Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

Raffi reports that when on My Commons, using the My Groups filter, if you click on a link (leaving My Commons) and then click the browser's back button, you are taken to the correct page with My Groups selected, but the content is not filtered correctly (i.e. displays content that does not belong in My Groups).

Per an email discussion based on an nycdh.org issue, WordPress does not automatically mark a blog as spam when its creator is marked as spam. As you noted, Boone, it's a WP issue; if you could work on it at some point by, as you noted, "creat[ing] a patch to WP, or a small mu-plugin, or probably both," that would be great.
