I was looking into BBPress installs and the one on WordPress.org support forums uses blocks instead of the classic editor for posting. Would this be possible with our installation or would this be a heavy lift?

Hi Ray --

I was just writing a message to my class using the Visual text composer, and I saw again some strangeness in the rendered HTML in the preview

I had entered a few blank lines using Control-Enter, which produced the
code in the preview

I then went to the text mode and switched back to the visual mode, which added tags to the links in the preview (which also showed up in the notification email)
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #18739 (New): PDF Embedder Premiumhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/187392023-09-05T17:39:09ZSyelle Graves

We have a quick question about the PDF embedder: Has the Commons team ever considered the paid version? We ask because we have a newsletter with hyperlinks that we can't embed. and it would be great to have that functionality, which I believe the paid plugin has.

The only alternative I know of is to use an embedded Google doc, but we don't do that because we would have to reformat all of our existing PDFs, which we’ve tried and found not worth it (tables and images take forever to convert from Word to gdocs). Anyway, we're just curious in general if the Commons has considered or would consider it, if it's not too expensive!

Hope it's okay to ask. Thank you!
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #18362 (Reporter Feedback): After entering OTP, I am redirected to a ...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/183622023-06-14T13:53:45ZRaffi Khatchadourianraffi.khatchadourian@hunter.cuny.edu

Hi Commons Team,

(Marilyn says "Please open up a ticket in Redmine about this.")

We have an important need for a website to be displayed in Avenir font, due to branding reasons for a DOE-funded center. The site was moved over from Wix, where Avenir was a built-in option.

We’re creating the Commons site in Canvas, which has no option for Avenir that we can see.

Is it possible that there is an option to add code to change the site’s font to Avenir? Or, are there any themes on the Commons that have Avenir font built in or allow code to allow it? Montserrat, the recommended alternative via Google fonts, looks noticeably different from our years of existing/already-distributed materials, which we don't have a way to go back in time and change. This includes our banner and logo, which we will have to change to match our (already-designed) site.

Is there anything we can do?
Many thanks!
CUNY Academic Commons - Design/UX #17018 (Reporter Feedback): Analytics for Profile Fields & Feat...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/170182022-10-12T21:20:03ZSara Cannon

Last week, I noticed that there was a new form entry for which I never received an email notification. This week, I tested it by submitted a "fake" form entry, and the notification worked. However, if I go to the entry page and send a notification from there, it doesn't work. I checked the gravity form logs, and it looks like the emails are being submitted to SMTP. But, the notifications work sometimes and don't work other times. This can be problematic since students don't typically tell me that they submit forms, they just submit them and await my response. I checked the gravity forms system status and found the following errors:

CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #14629 (Reporter Feedback): Possible Post Order Bug?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/146292021-07-26T14:58:27ZSyelle Graves

Greetings,

I am noticing something strange about the post order on this site https://8nsshl2021.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
The posts do not seem to show by the expected default order (reverse chronological.)

In addition, when I activate the simple Custom Post Order plugin in an attempt to get the posts to show in the order we want (happens to be alphabetical by title), that solution is also foiled.

I’ve included two screenshots (dashboard and front end).

When I first set these timestamps in order to show the posts alphabetically, the posts did show in the correct order. But since then, they have reverted to an order that looks random.

I attempted to re-create this on a test site, thinking that it might be related to the 2017 theme, but I got mixed results (the "Hello World" post showed at the top, when it should show last, even when I changed themes, which seemed odd, and the rest showed in normal order. Sorry I don't have more info there.)

Let me know if I can provide any additional info/apologies if this is something simple.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #14394 (New): Commons News Site - redesignhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/143942021-04-28T19:30:21Zscott vothscott.voth@verizon.net

Hi everyone,

Here's the issue that we've been discussing internally:

We need to find a way to announce and keep a record of data quality issues. We're currently using the IR Director Listserv for this but a few days after a data alert has been sent out, people forget about it. What we would love to do is to have some sort of prompt to send out an alert email when an update has been made to only a single page (in this case, https://oirap.commons.gc.cuny.edu/alerts-data-quality-issues/). The reason why I say a prompt is because we frequently make updates to pages before sharing them.

Thanks very much!!

Hi Ray --

Twice today, I've had a single RBE email rejected, saying it can't be posted. In each case, I've received 2-3 error messages, as if the message had been sent multiple times to the CAC. I'm not sure whether my gmail is trying to send multiple times (which seems unlikely, as I think it reached the system, even if only to result in an error message) or whether RBE is the issue.
CUNY Academic Commons - Publicity #5298 (New): Survey Pop-Up Texthttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/52982016-03-08T17:05:23ZSamantha Raddatz
