Redmine CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #20062 (Staged for Production Release): Quick Edit Feature Resets Pos...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/200622024-03-26T23:03:59ZZachary Muhlbauer

When I use the Quick Edit option to make changes to an existing post, the author of the post automatically resets to the first individual listed in the site's user list, regardless of who the original author was.

I replicated the issue in Firefox and Safari as well as across multiple themes. I also spoke with another instructor and confirmed that the Quick Edit option resets post authorship for them, too.

It's a nasty little bug if only because determining the original author of certain posts can be tricky and time-consuming when there isn't an available edit history for the post.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #17739 (Testing Required): Embedding docs from Word in Microsoft ...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/177392023-02-28T17:06:40ZLaurie Hurson

Hi All,

As you may or may not know, CUNY has been transitioning all faculty, staff, and students to Microsoft Office 365 cloud. So instead of having Microsoft Office software, everyone now gets these tools and saves docs etc in the 365 cloud.

Someone in a training asked about embedding the Live cloud-hosted word docs into a commons site, similar to how Google docs works, so that when they update their Word doc the commons embed is also updated. This is different from how Word and the Commons works now, where faculty have to upload the static document.

Some examples of sharing links from a test cloud-hosted word doc:

The CC license is unintentionally displayed at the bottom of every page and post on the CETLS web site (in addition to being intentionally displayed in a widget in the footer): https://cetls.bmcc.cuny.edu/. I recently realized that this behavior may be specific to the theme I am using for the site (Canvas).
I'd like to do a review over the next few releases of blacklisted plugins. These are plugins that are unavailable on Dashboard > Plugins, but may still be running on existing sites. For those that are running only on a small handful of sites, it may be worth removing the plugin from the codebase altogether. This data will take some time to collect.

We might want to investigate the Subscribe 2 plugin... these users -- https://jitp.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=s2_tools -- don't look real.

Don't think it causes much harm, but we might look to see if this plugin is being utilized on the Commons and deprecate if not. Could be part of a larger effort to identify best methods for facilitating notification of new posts and push users towards that solution.
CUNY Academic Commons - Publicity #6014 (Reporter Feedback): Google search listinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/60142016-09-14T14:48:05ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Report from a community member:

I wanted to let you know that I just did a quick google search of "CUNY Commons" and I was surprised to see that the first entry in the search list was as follows:

CUNY Academic Commons
https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/
CUNY Academic Commons
Originally a vibrant place to share resources, the Commons Wiki isn't used much any more. Members have more modern collaborative tools, and we've decided ...
You've visited this page many times. Last visit: 8/7/16

I am not sure how it got there but it is a disservice to your work. I don't know if you have a tech person who can trace this down.

I usually use Duck Duck Go myself, but I just checked Google and had slightly different -- but still potentially problematic -- results, in that the main listing seemed to show info from our slider rather than a general description of the site. Screenshot attached

If the dev team could look into this, I'd appreciate it.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #5826 (Reporter Feedback): Remove Subscription Options plugin fro...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/58262016-07-22T22:51:24ZSarah Morgano

Since the Subscriptions Options plugin hasn't been updated in over 2 years I wanted to propose that we remove it from the directory and email blog owner using the plugin about replacing it with the Social Sticker plugin. We have a page in the Codex about the Subscription Options plugin, but nothing about Social Sticker. I'd be happy to create a new Codex page for it.

An editor on the TLC site just posted this post -- https://tlc.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2016/03/10/working-with-ellesl-students-march-16th-1-3pm/ -- and no email notification came through the affiliated BP Group (she is also a member of the group), and no activity item appeared. When I (as admin) unpublished and then republished her post, the notification came and the activity was logged.

Doesn't seem like this is expected behavior, unless I'm missing something, so wanted to report.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #3419 (Testing Required): Neatening the display of messages on group ...https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/34192014-08-28T22:52:45ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Received a bunch of requests to join a private group today, and some users included notes. When I went to the approval screen (Group Home page > Admin > Requests) the "Accept" button and the text of the message were overlaid on top of one another. We should clean up the display here so that the text can be read.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #1544 (Reporter Feedback): Group Filtering and Sortinghttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/15442012-01-13T19:12:09ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Do we already have group filtering and sorting on our roadmap? If not, we should. I'm thinking that something like what you developed for profile filtering could be usefully applied to groups, as well. I'd also like to see us develop group tagging, so that we have metadata on groups to filter through, which I know we've talked about.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #1456 (Reporter Feedback): Invite to Group Button from Profile Fieldhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/14562011-12-16T18:40:42ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

It would be neat if, while looking at someone's profile page or at a list of members, I could invite people to groups. So, I'd like to mouse over someone's profile image, than click "invite to a group," then have a list pop up that would allow me to select which group(s) I'd like to invite people to.
