Description

From https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/12962#note-5:

(2) The embed works perfectly on Chrome and Firefox. But it doesn’t work on Safari (same with Safari on iOS). Instead of the video, what appears is a black rectangle (with the relevant height and width), with the message “This browser requires permission to establish a session. Continue<https://app.knowmia.com/connector/Home/CookieFix>” [link: https://app.knowmia.com/connector/Home/CookieFix]. I am pretty sure my Safari settings do not block cookies.
Any idea what’s going on? And do you think it is fixable on your end?

Jon, if you're able to respond here, could you please provide a URL that demonstrates the issue?

I've done a bit of testing and I can't seem to figure out why this works in Chrome/Firefox but not in Safari. I see some console notices about mismatched domains between iframes that originate with Knowmia's useriq analytics script. But I have a feeling this is a parallel symptom of a shared underlying issue (inconsistent security policies between browsers) and not the issue itself.

I'd suggest reaching out to Knowmia support.

I encountered a similar problem on both Chrome and Firefox because I've blocked all third-party cookies. Once you enable the app.knowmia.com domain for cookies, you should be able to view the content.

Not sure how to configure that in Safari since I don't have a Mac, but here are some links to look at:

I should note that the second content on the knowmia-test-page displays as "Page not found," but that's not related to this issue.

Here's a GIF of how to enable the app.knowmia.com domain in Chrome if it is blocked:

I'm closing this ticket on the assumption that Ray's analysis above solves the problem. Thanks, all!
