The activity corresponds to the trackback on the blog post from my blog teleogistic.net. The question remains why it was recorded as an activity item, and why the item was attributed to user 103. I'll try to track down the reason soon - for now I'm just making this note so I don't forget.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #145: Trackbacks are being attributed to 'ungooglable'https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/145?journal_id=6122010-05-11T20:45:41ZBoone Gorgesboone@gorg.es

Status changed from Assigned to Resolved

I finally dug up the problem.

- Trackbacks are recorded as comments with no associated email address
- When comments are recorded, BP first checks to see whether the person who left the comment is a member of the site. It does so by matching the email address of the comment to the user email address.
- Several accounts on our installation (including the 'ungooglable' account, as well as several accounts created by feedwordpress) had no email addresses
- Thus BP was finding a match between the empty email string from the comment and the empty email string in the ungooglable account (the first one in the installation with a null email)

There is no really good way to fix this problem. For now I have replaced the empty email addresses with fake emails, which should block it until next time FWP creates an account with a null address. I'll file a patch to BP core that will check for blank email addresses when posting comment activity, so that the problem will be avoided in a better way in future versions of BP.
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #145: Trackbacks are being attributed to 'ungooglable'https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/145?journal_id=7742010-05-20T19:07:28ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

Nice detective work, Boone. And way to patch the core.
