Status changed from New to Reporter Feedback

Target version set to Not tracked

Hi Gina - For the time being, I believe the answer is: you can't. That is, if you want to continue using functionality like what Widget Context provides, you'll need to enable the Classic Widgets plugin, described in ticket #14799.

At the moment, I'm not aware of a way to replicate Widget Context with the block-based widgets. But I'm hopeful that in the next 6-12 months, now that block widgets are in the wild, new tools will emerge that will enable just what you're looking for. We'll continue to keep our eyes open.
CUNY Academic Commons - Support #14842: Question about widgets and block editorhttps://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/14842?journal_id=644322021-10-06T19:01:07ZGina Cherry

Thanks, Boone. I'm aware of the plugin, but was not aware that we had it installed on the Commons (maybe that happened after I last checked). This is also helpful for us in the BMCC OpenLab, where we were debating whether to install the plugin. Since many of our sites use Widget Context, it sounds like we'll need it there as well.
