Thanks, Chris. What do you think about pointing them to an online photo editing tool like http://www.picnik.com/ to resize if needed. Not sure that's needed; let me know what you think.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #257: Add avatar dimensions to the Change Avatar page.https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/257?journal_id=8762010-07-02T16:14:51ZMatt Goldmattgold@gmail.com

...or maybe, rather than pointing them to a specific tool, we could point them to a list of tools somewhere. .

Chris - I'm unable to see this.

Matt, I think that while I did commit it back then I wasn't as clear on git and may have never pushed the commit. Anyway, it gave me the chance to do it better now. I've made the changes by making a custom language file. It's something we can use to make other changes without touching the core files. Boone, there's a new buddpress-custom-lang folder in the plugins folder that has the po and mo files and bp-custom.php was modified to read in the mo file.

I added the basic disclaimer about the 150x150 and that other sizes might be skewed. I also added a sentence about finding an editor but I'm not sure about that one. Probably better than that in the end is to make a wiki page that shows how to edit a picture in a couple of software. Let me know if you want any changes, it's pretty simple now.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #257: Add avatar dimensions to the Change Avatar page.https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/257?journal_id=10122010-08-26T14:01:25ZBoone Gorgesboone@gorg.es

I just pulled the change to cdev and it looks good, Chris. Thanks for taking the initiative.

Matt, go to the Change Avatar screen on cdev and see what you think.
CUNY Academic Commons - Feature #257: Add avatar dimensions to the Change Avatar page.https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/257?journal_id=14172010-11-16T20:58:15ZBoone Gorgesboone@gorg.es
