Status changed from Assigned to Reporter Feedback

My memory here is not perfect either, but here's what I've pieced together from looking at the plugin that links CAC to YOURLs: Users only receive cuny.is URLs when they request them, at the time of profile edit. In an earlier draft of the implementation, users would automatically be assigned URLs. But the implementation was rewritten when we moved to our new profile system.

Hi Boone,

My feeling is that everyone with a Commons account should have a cuny.is shortlink to the user's profile page. By default, it should be cuny.is/[username], and users should hvae the ability to edit. How hard would that be to implement? Any reasons not to go this way?
CUNY Academic Commons - Bug #3788: CUNY.is default links?https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/3788?journal_id=189212015-04-03T11:22:06ZBoone Gorgesboone@gorg.es
