Keith,

I've updated the Events Manager plugin to version 5.3, it will go live during tonight's 1.4.12 release.

Please use this issue to update me regarding the errors you're experiencing and whether this update resolves those issues.

I'm targeting this for 1.4.13 to give us a chance to verify resolution of the current issues during the next release cycle.
