Description

It looks like the Google Forms plugin may not be working anymore. I see a warning from last summer indicating that the plugin may not work after Google's switch to a new UI for Forms (first screenshot attached). And when I try to create a form, I get more errors/warnings (second screenshot attached). I'm happy to do more testing, but before wanted to see if there are other reports on this, or whether it's something already on your radar.

Thanks for the report, Tom.

It might be wise to try an alternative plugin like the Google Docs Shortcode plugin. You'd have to create the form in Google Drive first though. I think you're already familiar with that plugin; let me know if that is a suitable workaround.

I think for now, given that the wpgforms plugin is reliant on the deprecated Google Forms format and given that the plugin author has stated that he does not have time to work on it, we'll have to hide this plugin from being on the Plugins list so it cannot be activated. (Code reference - https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/fcdb694ab98caa466d68e759e9346b6dbdb8e717 .) It will still be available for existing sites though.

Tom, let me know if the Google Docs Shortcode plugin will work for embedding your Google Forms.

Yup, the Google Docs Shortcode will do the trick! I've tested it out and it worked like a charm.

Thanks,
Tom
