Description

on Jeff Allred's site (https://dh700fa21.commons.gc.cuny.edu/) he had a number of plugins (see attached) installed. When he tried to add an image to a page using the block editor, the image looked good in the editor, but did not display on the actual page. It was just an empty box. I noticed that Jetpack open graph tags were being used (see other attachment), and that the image url was being prepended with "i1.wp.com/". I asked him to disable JetPack, and everything now works fine.

Do you think there is an incompatibility with one of the other plugins?

Hi Scott,

There's quite possibly an issue with Jetpack.

I cannot check because when I attempt to activate Jetpack and head to the Jetpack dashboard, it's asking me to set up Jetpack.

With regards to:

I noticed that Jetpack open graph tags were being used (see other attachment), and that the image url was being prepended with "i1.wp.com/".

Jeff can try deactivating the "Site Accelerator" feature from Jetpack: https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/. This is the functionality that mirrors the images to wordpress.com.

If Jeff solely needs Open Graph support, then we have a plugin titled "Open Graph and Twitter Card Tags" that can handle that and Jetpack can be left deactivated.
