Description

Hi there,

Hope you are all doing well!

The Digital Fellows are updating the gcdri.commons.gc.cuny.edu website, and we added a "Read More" tag on the following page (https://gcdri.commons.gc.cuny.edu/january-2022-workshops/), but this tag is not appearing on the published page. We've tried different browsers, etc...but we are not able to see it. Do you have an idea of why this might be happening?

Thank you so much for your help!

Best,

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

The "Read More" tag only takes effect on archive pages, not on the main, singular page.

If you want to separate your content on the main page, you can use the Page Break tag. If you are using the Visual Editor, this can be done by pressing SHIFT + ALT + p; if you're using the Text Editor, you can manually input <!--nextpage--> on its own line.

If you decide to use the Page Break tag, when viewing the page, you will see a "Pages" line at the end of the content that looks like this:

Pages: 1 2

Please note that if you decide to use the Page Break tag, you will need to change the Template under the "Page Attributes" metabox in the sidebar to "Default template" instead of "Builder Template".

The "Page Attributes" metabox looks like this:

Let me know if you have any other questions.
