Bug #23484

Description
When site owner adds a post, the post is published fine, but does not appear on home page when user is logged out of the Commons. When logged into the Commons, the post appears on the home page, as expected. Site visibility is set correctly. The site is domain mapped. The last post (October 18, 2024) was done before the site migration and it appears fine. Could something have to do with domain mapping?

It appears to be working now. The site owner is going to publish another post soon, so we'll see if it happens again.

The logged-in vs logged-out distinction suggests a static caching issue (logged-in users do not see cached pages, while the logged-out visitor was probably seeing stale items from the cache). In the future, if the user sees the same activity, they should be able to navigate to Dashboard > LiteSpeed Cache > Toolbox (https://newsliteracymatters.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=litespeed-toolbox) and click 'Purge All'.

Thanks Boone. The member asks if this is something she should always be doing, but I told her only when she noticed the issue. It might have been since the site was dormant for a while, especially before and after the migration.

Generally speaking, our cache plugin should automatically clear the cache when a new post is published. But there could be specific circumstances about the way the user's site is configured that make this automatic clearing unreliable. So yes, if the user notices the problem again, then the 'Purge All' button should be a good recourse.
