Forum posting/notification problem

Hi Ray --

I was set to launch the NYCDH site today and made an announcement to that effect on the NYCDH steering group forum - http://nycdh.org/groups/nycdh-steering-group/forum/topic/launch-today/

However, I notice the following problems:

1. The announcement shows up in the group activity feed - http://nycdh.org/groups/nycdh-steering-group/

2. No email notification was sent after the creation of the forum post

3. The post (which was in a private group) doesn't show up on the sitewide activity feed - http://nycdh.org/activity/ - (I think it should, right, since I'm a superadmin?)

4. In the sidebar of the sitewide activity page, the Steering group is shown as being last active 5 days ago - http://nycdh.org/activity/

Hiving this a high priority due to our impending launch.

Hi Matt,

2) I don't think you get email notifications of your own posts

3) Private group items only show up in the group activity feed even if you're a super admin.

4) Creating a new bbPress forum post in a group does not update the group's last activity time. A patch will need to be added to bbPress to address this.

Thanks, Ray, I appreciate it. I discovered today that there is actually an option to be notified of one's one's forum posts, accessible through user profile settings > forum > notifications
