In https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac-advanced-profiles/commit/67ffde7ff7ba4e36ec71262c21aa134bb52dd1b4 https://github.com/castiron/cac/commit/b19316ac3ee40a18c2fb70f6d2abaf47305456d5, I manually modify the URL of all JS and CSS assets, which should have the effect of busting browser caches. I'll do a quick test after release to ensure that this is the case for me.
If this trick doesn't work, I'll have to go back to researching solutions.
