Design/UX #4201
closedModify My Profile/View/Change Profile Photo menus
0%
Description
Clicking ‘My Profile’, ‘View’ and ‘Change Profile Photo’ all seem to lead to the same page. Only the ‘Edit’ menu option obviously leads to a different view of the page with the option to change the text fields (and a button to get to this view appears on the main profile page). In reality, these pages are different on the bottom half, but unless the user knows to scroll down they appear to be the same.
Delete ‘View’ option since clicking ‘My Profile’ leads to the same page.
Delete ‘Change Profile Photo’ option (since the ‘Edit’ page has the ‘Change avatar’ link clearly displayed)

In https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac-advanced-profiles/commit/dabb528fca661fe912dc8749b0781dc6b5a39b46, I made it so that the short version of the header is used when on the Change Avatar panel and other profile subpanels. This should address the scrolling issue.

- Status changed from Assigned to Resolved
In https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/50b683cac6a3da3948a2c4e789e02114c639036f I've removed the redundant View subnav item.
I'm going to overrule you about the Change Avatar item. It's true that it's redundant while looking at your own profile, but these toolbar links provide static navigation from anywhere on the Commons. If you feel strongly about this, feel free to reopen and tell me why, and I will obey. :)

I don't feel that strongly about it (and no users have ever mentioned it to me) so this is all set.
Thanks for these changes, Boone!
