Description

Hi Boone,

I added the external blog feeds back to the SPS group, but posts are not showing up in the activity stream. I went in yesterday and deleted and re-entered the URLs but that didn't seem to help.

Best,

Sarah

Hi Sarah. Sorry that this ticket got buried under a bunch of others. I have done some experimentation, and it looks like things are working correctly. A couple hypotheses:

1) Did the SPS group have more than one blog? Were you sure to enter their feed addresses separated by commas? If you have improper syntax, the fetching won't work correctly.
2) This may also have been related to the fact that the cron system (the system that automatically updates content on the site like this) used to be sorta broken on the production site. It's since been fixed.

Any thoughts? Have you found this to be working more recently?

Hi Boone,

Thanks for testing this out and the external blog posts are indeed showing up in the activity stream for the CUNY SPS group. I'm leaning towards your second hypothesis since I only entered one URL. Thanks for the fix and the update.

Out of curiosity, if I enter in the group blog's URL to the external blogs, do you know if the posts will appear in the activity stream?

Thanks,
Sarah

Yes, they probably will! Good thinking. That's a good workaround for #465, until it's resolved. Thanks, Sarah.
