Description

Hi,

In the past couple months, the plugin "The Events Calendar" has started to break down -- I am unable to click into the HTML editor, a calendar doesn't pop-up for selecting the dates of events, and the location feature has disappeared. (See attached photo for what I mean about location disappearing.) Can you please help restore full functionality?

Thanks very much,
Leah

Hi Leah,

Could you please give some more details so that the team can help you to debug? At a minimum, we need the URL of a specific page that's affected by the issues you've described. Thanks.

Apologies -- MurphyInstituteBlog.org. You can see the calendar rendered by the plugin here: http://murphyinstituteblog.org/calendar/category/events/. This is an example of an event for which I wasn't able to set location or access the HTML: http://murphyinstituteblog.org/cal/janus-and-beyond-the-future-of-public-sector-unions/

Thanks. This is a variant on #8552. The fix put in place by the plugin developers doesn't work properly on mapped domains - domains like murphyinstituteblog.com that don't conform to the regular commons.gc.cuny.edu pattern.

I've hacked together a temporary fix that seems to address the problem. Can you please verify? If it works, I will try to come up with a more permanent solution.

For our records: I've recommended a fix to the team that maintains The Events Calendar. I'll wait to hear back from them before building a more permanent band-aid for the Commons.

I'm going to keep this ticket open while the issue remains unresolved in The Events Calendar. https://github.com/moderntribe/tribe-common/pull/518

Their release is still not yet out, so I'll leave this open.

The latest version of the-events-calendar contains this fix. We'll get that update as part of the release on the 21st, so there's nothing more to do here.
