Description
Though I can make a special request to the CAC team, I wondered if we couldn't get a database migration plugin installed. This way I could easily dump the sql for a website.
My use case: To keep a development instance up-to-date with data on a live site.

The Migrate DB plugin, like most database management plugins, does not work nicely with our Multiste installation. Generally, they are made available only to network-wide administrators, because the tools generally are not fine-grained enough to protect against non-super-administrators exporting content to which they don't have proper access.
Ray, are you aware of any existing tools that would let a site admin generate a SQL export of just their site's tables? Would such a thing even be possible, given that some info (like user info) is in global tables?

The backup plugins that work with multisites might be one way to go:

But I am not sure by looking at All-in-One WP Migration and UpdraftPLUS if their multisite support would limit which site a specific user can export.

Dan, can I ask you to take a look through some of the more popular backup plugins to find something that meets our needs? We want something that allows administrators of sites within a Multisite installation to make a database export of their own site, but not of global content (or others' sites).

I spent some time looking around, and surprisingly I wasn't able to find anything that meets this specific need of a database export, available to the site admin, of just their site on a multisite network.

Tahir, it looks like we are going to have a hard time making this work with the existing tools. We could potentially build a tool express-built for this purpose, but on balance, it's probably a better use of our time to manually generate a database export for you when you need one. So, for the time being, please let us know when you need a fresh export (and for which site(s)) and we'll process it manually. Thanks for your patience.
