Is it possible to remove OR customize the search window in the Academica Theme?

Description

The search window is very difficult to see at the top of the screen because I have a header image. Is it possible to remove the search bar (I can use a widget for search functionality) or change the color of the search bar in the header so that it's more prominent?

Michael, could you please give a link to your site so that we can take a look? It's likely that it can be hidden or modified with CSS.

Thanks, Michael. It can be hidden or customized with some custom CSS. I've added a bit that hides it here: https://oirap.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/themes.php?page=simple-css You could play with it to make it more visible, if you'd prefer.
