Hi - I received this note from Leah and don't really know the answer. This is in reference to the domain mapping for slublog.org:

It seems that by setting the CNAME, I've overridden the MX records. (This page explains it, but I don't totally understand since I don't know what all these things mean: https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/9646/2237/how-to-create-a-cname-record-for-your-domain) In any case, since I need to set up mail forwarding to @SLUblog.org domains, that's a problem for me. Here's what namecheap help says:
Yes, instead of CNAME, you can create a URL redirect with host @ and value https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/
Will this work? Will I have to set anything else up as well (A records, etc)?

Definitely do NOT set up a redirect to commons.gc.cuny.edu. This will redirect the URL to the Commons home page.
Instead, it looks like you'll need an A record for @ that points to 146.96.128.200. The www record should then be a redirect to https://slublog.org. With this setup, you should then be able to configure MX records properly.
- Category name set to Domain Mapping
- Target version set to Not tracked
So I'm not too clear what she should do.
- should she delete the @ CNAME record that she has pointed to the Commons?
- it seems like she should add a @ A record that points to the Commons
And then, she should create a www record to redirect to https://slublog.org - should this record be an A record, a CNAME record, or just simply a redirect?

If I understand the registrar's request, then she should do the following:
1. Delete the CNAME record pointing to the Commons
2. Create an A record that points to the Commons IP address
3. Create a www redirect to https://slublog.org - a redirect, NOT an A or CNAME record
- Status changed from Reporter Feedback to Abandoned
