We received a question via email:

"I am using Mediawiki 1.17 and am VERY interested in your hack/plugins. I really only cut and paste code; I am not a coder. I wanted to know if your setup will work for a standalone WP (no buddy press) and pass the login to a mediawiki."

Based on my understanding, the answer is yes, because BP itself uses WP's user tables. Can you please confirm?

Depends what is meant by "setup". The MW single sign-on will work with standalone WP. The BuddyBar integration, and BuddyPress activity stream integration, require BuddyPress.
