Description

I was looking at the Changelog for Diaspora* (https://github.com/diaspora/diaspora/wiki/Changelog) and thought that we could use something like this to provide a thumbnail description for users of what has changed on the Commons from version to version. Maybe your dev updates already cover it, and we just need to create a single page on the dev blog that collates them. It would be cool for people to see how the site has developed from version to version, even if the number of people who might check that out is relatively few. Diaspora includes a "What's New" link on its site that links directly to the changelog.

Is that sufficient?

I'd say that it would be nice to have everything clearly laid out on one page. But that's IF you agree that this is a good idea; if you think it's a waste of time and/or not worth the effort it would take to put together, I'm perfectly willing to listen. And it might be that we want to ask Scott or another community team member to put this list together based on your updates.

I'm less than eager to add another thing to my list of tasks when new releases of the Commons come out. But if you think it would be valuable, then just tell me what you want, and where you want it. Do you want an exact copy of what Diaspora does?

If Scott or another of the CFs wants this job, it would be fine with me, though it will of course mean a bit more coordination around release time than if a single person were to handle it.

  • Status changed from Assigned to Rejected

6 years suggests that the dev blog archive may be enough.
