Description
Via ZD:
"Would it be possible for you to tell me why this site https://kcel.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ doesn't come up when I put KCeL in the search box on the commons?
Thanks so much!
Best, Janine"
I looked and the site is set to "Allow search engines to index this site" Started in 2015, if that helps

The primary Commons search box is powered by Google, and it appears that the kcel.commons site doesn't appear in Google search results: https://www.google.com/search?q=kcel.commons.gc.cuny.edu&source=hp&ei=uCWuYabjOpKeptQP3MKpyA4&iflsig=ALs-wAMAAAAAYa4zyMPAa0BkTyMDHtSbegN3iEXp_8aN&ved=0ahUKEwimn-a4uM_0AhUSj4kEHVxhCukQ4dUDCAk&uact=5&oq=kcel.commons.gc.cuny.edu&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAM6CwguEMcBEK8BEJECOhEILhCABBCxAxCDARDHARCjAjoICC4QgAQQsQM6DgguEIAEELEDEMcBENEDOgUIABCABDoLCC4QsQMQxwEQowI6CwguEIAEELEDEIMBOgsILhCxAxCDARCRAjoFCAAQkQI6CAgAELEDEIMBOgUILhCABDoLCAAQgAQQsQMQgwE6CwguEIAEEMcBEKMCOgQIABBDOggIABCABBCxAzoHCAAQgAQQCjoGCAAQChAeOgQIABAeOgQIABANOgYIABANEAo6BggAEA0QHlAAWNYiYNMraARwAHgAgAFqiAG3DpIBBDI1LjGYAQCgAQE&sclient=gws-wiz
I'm unsure why the URL doesn't show up in Google. Unfortunately, our Google integration is configured in such a way that I can't request Google to index subdomains. I'll talk to our IT staff to see whether it's possible to verify our domain ownership via DNS so that I can do more advanced debugging.
Matt - On a related point, do you own the Google Custom Search Engine configuration? See if you have access to https://cse.google.com/cse/setup/basic?cx=004300494496351942816:vifba_gegbu. If you do, please add my Gmail address as a verified administrator.

Any progress with this? Do you think it would help for them to clone the site? I think they'd want their original UTL, could we clone it temporarily and then have you make https://kcel.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ available again so it can be recreated there?

No, I'm afraid I've got no progress. I'm unable to see why it's not being tracked in Google. It's not clear to me how cloning would help. Ray, do you have any ideas?

Could try creating a sitemap and submitting that to Google.
It looks like we have three plugins that can do that:
- Better WordPress Google XML Sitemaps
- Jetpack and Yoast SEO have a sitemap feature of some sort, but I haven't looked into how they work
