Description

Apparently, when I requested a custom sidebar plugin for the JITP journal (http://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/1440), I requested a different plugin than the one that Sarah Ruth, the managing editor, desired. Here's the plugin she intended to ask for:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-custom-sidebar/

The one we installed is more highly rated and has more downloads, but here is Sarah Ruth's message about the additional functionality that this new plugin has:

"This is the custom sidebar plugin that 1) Doesn't clog the widget area with different sidebars when one wants to create unique sidebar elements and 2) Doesn't require that the user add all of the widgets each time a new sidebar is being made because it allows for custom elements. "

This new plugin has a fair number of downloads 6700+ and it was updated recently (12/13/11), but it's not very highly rated. Can you do a code review? If it seems decent, I'd suggest that we uninstall the previously added plugin and add this one instead. Please let me know what you think.

I've added Sarah Ruth as a watcher in case she has anything to add.
