Cannot update email in settings

A member recently reported that she couldn't change the email address where she receives notifications, noting that she received the following error message: "Sorry, that email address is already used or is invalid."

I just did some testing and experiences the same problem using Safari 5.1.2 on a Mac. Please let me know if you want me to reach out to the member to ask what OS/Browser they were using at the time.

Just as an update, after I tried to update my email setting I noticed that the following error appeared at the top of my profile right below my picture: "Your existing password is incorrect."

I didn't think much of it, but a member reported seeing the same message as well when she visited my profile last night. The message has since dissappeared and I'm not sure how long it was listed, but I thought it might be of relevance. Perhaps it was just a caching issue, but I'm not sure.

There were two parallel bugs happening. One was a BP bug, which was fixed in a bugfix release earlier this week. The other issue (related to the email address) has to do with our limited email domain checks, which were being incorrectly applied here. Both have been fixed in
